I had a handyman install this system. He recommended putting a board behind the system for extra strength, so we did. The housings appear very solid. The instruction manual was pretty thorough, according to the installer. After installing the system, I could tell the difference in the taste of my water immediately. My refrigerator already has a built-in water filter, but the water tasted so much cleaner after installing the system, so I was impressed. As far as their "salt-free" water softener goes, it does the job. I live by the mountains, so our water is very hard. I used to see white hard water deposits on faucets and other fixtures. I cleaned all the fixtures with white vinegar first so I could start fresh to see if this worked or not. After using it for two weeks, I don't see white spots on most fixtures. I saw very tiny white spots on one of the fixtures, so I contacted their customer service, and they told me you could see white spots from time to time, but it still shouldn't be hard. They told me to clean it off with a cloth, and I should be able to clean it with regular cleaning (without using scale-removing products). They were right. I just wetted a cloth with water and was able to clean it up. No hard rubbing was needed. To conclude, I recommend this product! ... show more

We purchased this water filter after reading all of its specs. The sorry truth is that they don’t work. I could smell and taste the chlorine very strongly. We used it a bit to see if it would filter but this picture is the lowest reading we got. 158 per cent contaminates are still in our water. That’s no good. We purchased a zero water filter in a pitcher and it read 0000 for all PFOA’s etc. also you can’t get a hold of the makers you have to go through the distributor so you can’t even let them know to maybe fix it. Product arrived in great shape. Considering it is fairly heavy, it arrived without shipping damage. Installation is very straight forward and instructions are clear and easy to follow. Biggest challenge was attaching it to the concrete wall in my basement. Used 2 X 4's mounted to the wall with Ramset fasteners. Once installed and flushed the system is operating flawlessly. Our city water always had a chlorine smell but that is now gone. Spotting is greatly reduced after about a week of use. Very happy with the purchase of this system. ... show more
