Once you figure out how to line up the holes using the little alignment dot, it's fairly quick to finish a (thin) stack of 8 1/2 by 11" sheets. I used the punch in conjunction with 7/16" 3:1 plastic spiral binding to bind my sheet music into a perfect lay-flat booklet with some card stock covers. I'm happy with the results. The item is smaller than you might expect from the picture, and don't try to punch too many sheets at once. You'll get the feel for it. :)

I have a Cinch square hole punch, but wanted a 3:1 spiral round hole punch at times to make spiral books. This fit the bill perfectly! I was able to punch 5 pages at a time and went through a 8.5 x 11 stack of 30 pages quickly. Very easy to use, cuts with accuracy and through standard chip board without problem. Compact, easy to store and is a great functional addition to a home crafters tools.

Absolutely hated this thing! You can't do many sheets, which understandable it is small, but the alignment is so off. You either end up with a hole at the very top and too far from the bottom or vice versa and that is with using the little measuring tool. I ruined half my journal before giving up. It will not do chipboard, so if you get it for planners or journals with chipboard, it will not work! Returned it.

This little hole puncher worked well to punch clean holes for coil bound notebooks. It can punch through cardstock or several sheets of printer paper at once. I didn’t have any punch through two sheets of cardstock but felt it might have been a bit too thick for the punch. The punch seems sturdy enough and can fold for compact storage.

It does what it's supposed to but you have to buy special spines for it. I got some spines at michaels and they don't fit the holes. Making me have to spend even more money. It's like spiral notebook paper length between holes
