This spider silk launcher is really cool... for the first 30 minutes (as an adult). I love that the mechanism is able to launch the string while the shooter itself is able to wind it all back nicely with the hold of a button. The entire unit is charged using a usb-c cable which is really nice to see as usb-c is becoming more and more common in today's tech. The tip of the web has a plastic dart with a magnetic tip and that magnetic tip is used to connect to the provided suction cups that can stick to surfaces when launched. What confused me about this was why they would make the suction cup magnetized to the dart instead of integrated into the dart. I find that when I was able to get the suction to stick to a surface that the dart would just fall off so using the button to reel in the dart left the suction cup stuck to whatever surface it was shot onto. This meant that you aren't able to suction onto things and pull it towards yourself like Spiderman does. Another thing I noticed was that the reel feels pretty weak (even when fully charged). It was not able to pull the dart back very fast and is definitely not strong enough to pull anything towards itself. It acts more of a retrieving dart mechanism than anything else which is fine. I like that the wrist strap is adjustable using velcro so it is able to fit my wrist no problem however the provided gloves are 100% meant for kids as they are way too small for any adult sized hand. Additionally the package came with the charging cable, replacement sting and an additional two darts/suction cups which was a nice touch. Although the appeal of this toy wore off on me quite quickly I can definitely see kids loving this thing. It is a kid's toy after all and I think that for their target market this is such a sweet web slinger. If you are buying this for a Spiderman fan in your life than I'd say this is as close as it gets to a web shooter especially at $20.

My son and I had a decent amount of fun playing with this and he is still enjoying it. Overall, it is meant for kids, the glove definitely won't fit a grown man's hand. The launcher has adjustable velcro and I was able to put that on no problem. The launcher works fairly well via a spring and can easily launch to the end of the string (8 to 10 feet) no problem. Without the string, the darts (magnet or suction cup) could easily go a little further. The motor, for retrieving the dart/string is a little slow and is definitely made to just retrieve and "reload" rather than retrieve anything. Overall, much easier than trying to locate all the nerf darts. For $26 dollars you get a reasonable toy that includes spare darts, a spare string, and everything you need to have fun. If you have boys, they'll probably think it's a blast.

I got this web shooter toy for my cousin’s eighth birthday in March since he’s an active kid and loves superhero-themed toys. The idea behind this is really cool—it launches a retractable “web” (a string with a magnet) up to 8 feet and can even grab small objects. The fact that it’s USB rechargeable is also a plus, meaning there’s no need for constant battery replacements. The magnetic feature is fun because it allows the string to stick to certain surfaces, adding another layer of interactive play. The kit comes with extra projectiles, suction cups, and a replacement string, which is nice. The trigger mechanism takes a little getting used to, but once figured out, it works well enough. That said, the quality could be better. Some reviews mentioned issues with durability, and I can see why—certain parts feel a bit flimsy, and I’m not sure how long the internal mechanism will hold up. The string is also shorter than I expected (about 5-8 feet), which limits the “web-slinging” effect. If you've got a (age appropriate of course) Spiderman fan in your household, this is a perfect toy for them! I got this for my kiddo and it's a beloved toy! My child has always wanted something like this and was beside themself when this arrived. It got so many compliments and has got so much play time since! My child loves using this and all of the attachments. It's one thing my child ensures gets put all together and safely stored every night before bed! My child is an early elementary age and has a LITTLE trouble working the trigger mechanism at times, but always finds me to help should help be needed. It's a fun, interactive toy for the Spiderman fan in your life!

I am writing this review based on what my child (10 years old) told me. This web shooter is "okay- 2.5 stars". He had another one that broke after a lot of use, so this was a replacement to that one. He says this one is much more sensitive to shoot, so that it shoots when you don't want it to sometimes. The suction cup isn't very strong, and when retracting it gets tangled way too easily. He says since it's spring loaded the usb and charging it isn't even needed, and doesn't think it makes any difference in how the web shooter works. He has played with it some, but the novelty doesn't last that long. Given his review, I am not sure how long this one will last.
