This wall mount punching bag is a little different than what you may have seen before in gym. It is a pretty small lightweight bag that is suspended from a spring. The installation was pretty straight forward. You receive hardware for wood, masonry or metal. I installed in in a 6x6 wooden post so I used the wood screws and it was easy to install. Drill two pilot holes then tighten in the wood screws. There was no recommended height so I measured it to my striking height in installed it so my height was the maxis that I could lower it for the kids. Once installed is is easy to lower and raise. I used it with standard 16 oz boxing gloves and was easily able to get into rhythm with the spring back. This speed bag will give you a good workout. It is certainly not gym quality but a great accessory for the home and for the kids. It's a good value and seemingly sturdy enough to last. ... show more

This boxing bag is really nice! It was easy to assemble, also easy to inflate, and can take a lunch really well. I got this to add to our workout room that myself, my husband, and our four teens use. I like that it can swing out to use and swing back towards the wall when we're not using it. This is our first boxing bag, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it's a nice one.     • It really is a "Speed Bag" rather than a punching bag

Being that it is very small (almost the same size as my outspread hand), it is not designed for heavy workouts. But it makes a great speed bag, where you build up rhythm by keeping your arms in place up high and just rotate your wrists to keep hitting the bag as it bounces back from your last hit. As such, you don't necessarily need boxing gloves, but you can use them if you choose to (I work without gloves). I had chemo last year, and spent 3 months in the hospital, and lost a LOT of body mass and muscle mass. I have re-built a lot of the legs and arms by walking and using dumbbell weights, but the chest muscles are tough to rebuild unless you elevate your arms to shoulder height or higher. THAT'S what I got this speed bag for -- to exercise the chest muscles -- and it's working! When I first set this up a month ago, I could not complete even 20 or 30 seconds of keeping the bag going, because I would tire out. I'm now up to 5 minutes at a time! And getting better and stronger every week! I love that it is easily adjustable as to the working height -- I can raise it to work near to head height, or lower it to work closer to the mid-chest to waist level, all with just a couple of twists to the tightening knobs, which work well to keep it where I put it. It was easy to install -- just a couple of screws into a 2x4 shelving unit in my garage, and Voila! a workout station with a speed bag! I've never been a workout freak -- but seeing the improvement over the last few weeks has been FUN! This thing gets my "Highly Recommended" vote -- as long as you remember that it is a speed bag, not a punching bag (for coordination, not for power!). Have fun! ... show more

we haven't installed this yet but i was surprised by the size of the bolts required to drill into studs. it makes sense, given the force that will be applied when in use. the hardware necessary to get it into wood studs or concrete/brick walls and a pump for the bag are included. it looks decent, the wall anchor is compact but durable metal and the bag is as good as can be expected at this price point. i will update the review once we try it out. ... show more

The punching bag is smaller than others. It is easy to assemble and mount but the ball is just small. It makes it hard to punch with the size. It may just be user error because I am not so good at this yet. I will keep practicing but with the ball size I have a hard time hitting it more than a few times without missing. I ordered this punching bag for my husband, who is going through chemo. He's lost a lot of strength and is trying to build his muscle back up. He can only use it for short periods of time right now, but he really likes it. It seems to be well made and sturdy.
