  • Works great on small bugs.
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
This stuff works great for my issue. Which is false chinch bugs coming indoors. I bought an old rural fixer upper for retirement. And the seal around door and window frames leaves something to be desired. And as it turns out, this area has seasonal problems with small bugs that can invade houses, like gnats and chinch bugs. Harmless in small numbers, but annoying in large numbers. So I tried this stuff out around the drafty sliding glass door frame leading to the backyard, and within two days there was dozens of dead bugs on the floor by the door, and no live bugs in the kitchen. And better yet, after sweeping those dead bugs up, there were a dozen more new dead bugs the next day, and the next. Which means the residual effectiveness actually works. warning: I highly recommend a brand name (3M) N95 mask while spraying this stuff. If you breathe in even a few airborne droplets of this stuff, you will be coughing and choking for the next 15 minutes. Not fun. N95 masks are rated for particles down to 0.3 microns (e.g. smoke). Which will easily filter out the airborne mist droplets while you spray the pesticide. A few bucks is worth it to not be breathing in pesticide. pros: - Absolutely does work for annoying small bugs, ants, gnats, etc. They make it about a foot past the sprayed area before dying. - The residual killing effect after spraying surfaces actually works. Continues to kill for at least 4 weeks after spraying. (Maybe longer, but I applied it again after 1 month to make sure) - Not stinky a day after spraying. (A noticeable smell when first applied but gone by 24 hours.) - Not messy or oily. (A wet film at first, obviously. But nothing noticeable after it dries and goes to work.) cons: - Will wash away in the first rain if used outdoors, and says so in the fine print. This is an indoors product, not a lawn and garden treatment. - The fine print says that spiders must be sprayed directly in order to kill them. So in other words the residual effect of spraying around in dark corners doesn't work on them. So if spiders, or really anything larger than a housefly, are your problem then you may need something stronger (and more dangerous) than this product. ... show more

  • Using in conjunction with monthly pest control and happily finding casualties
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
* * update: I had a chance to speak with our pest control guy on his last visit. When I mentioned that I'd been using this product between his visits he clarified his original recommendation for using this. He cautioned against using this on the exact same areas that he sprays. He said that sometimes using this on top of his spray can nullify the effectiveness of both. He sprays along the entire perimeter of our house structure and he clarified using this product further out along the perimeter edges of the walkways and patio. Original post: Despite having monthly pest control service, we still occasionally find pests in and around the house. Most specifically and most hated are the roaches. Our pest control guy actually suggested this product as something we can do as an extra deterrent ourselves. I've sprayed the exterior perimeter of the house and have already found roach casualties in the area. I haven't yet felt comfortable (despite the assurances) spraying this inside the house, but if it continues to do this great a job outside, there shouldn't be a need to spray inside at all. The spray gun works well, requires no pumping or squeezing, so it's easily used by anyone even with hand agility issues. I've sprayed this on my wood siding, concrete walkways and along patio baseboards and on patio tiles - - - there is no residue, staining, shine or color change at all. I've gotten spray on plants and none have shown any distress either. I'm sorry roaches, I am happy to say this is hopefully your downfall. ... show more

  • Works Very Well, A couple drawbacks
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
This is highly effective, and I've used this the last 1.5 years or so. After moving into a new construction home, I encountered many more pests (particularly crickets) in my garage in particular, than I had in my previous well-established neighborhood. While I'm hopeful the quantity of pests will die down to 'normal' levels within another year or so, Spectracide has been highly effective at killing crickets, spiders, roaches, and other small insects I can't identify that have made their way into my garage or onto the back patio. Unfortunately, it's also seemingly killed some moths or a couple bees that have somehow made contact with the residual spray. I do spray generously every 3 months or so, so I'm not sure if that's why it has been highly effective. I don't have an issue with the fumes personally (even with having asthma) but I do wear disposable gloves and a mask, and I've not noticed my pets getting sick either (but I think they know, on some level, not to mess with it while it's drying). There's a couple drawbacks that remove a star: 1) The last (2) purchases have had faulty sprayers/nozzles, and I've had to resort to using the sprayer/nozzle from the original purchase that still works. Here's to hoping the fourth purchase doesn't have the same issue. 2) I know it advertises no residue after drying, but It does leave a noticeable residue that is easy for me to spot on white tile on the interior after it dries. I usually like to keep things fairly tidy, so I have to resist the urge to clean it - every time. White tile does make it easy to spot lots of things, however, so I can see why some folks may not notice a residue depending on the color of the tile. ... show more

  • This stuff works! The only good spider is a dead spider...
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
I've been using Bug Stop for many years - at least 15 or so. I used to buy it from local hardware stores, but times have changed and they either don't carry it anymore or their price is too steep. This stuff kills spiders. Period. I live in an area that seems to get lots of outdoor smallish brown spiders. No idea what they are called (not brown recluse), but they make webs *everywhere*. I spray the sides of the house, the roofline, nearby bushes, anywhere I see their irritating webs. The webs even get on the outside of our vehicles sometimes, particularly around the grill or side view mirrors. Bug Stop spray does not seem to harm the car finish in any way. I generally spray in spring, then also in summer. The result is a spider-free environment. Yay! Amazon's price is extremely fair, and the sprayer mechanism works well. I do agree with others that the 'fumes' make my nose run, and I also cough. I use a disposable mask - you know, the kind that were everywhere during Covid - and that helps a lot. ... show more

  • Dead roaches everywhere!!
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
This is hands down the BEST roach product I have ever bought. We live in the south so the “wood roaches” that are huge are a plague and they’re terrifying. I sprayed the house inside and out, no smell, no residue. Next morning I found 6 dead roaches inside and countless outside. Repeated in a week and in the attic too. Next day 8 huge roaches dead throughout. That’s the ones that have come out to die. I love this stuff and will repeat now as directed. ... show more

  • Spectracide Bug Stop – Powerful Indoor & Outdoor Barrier Against Insects.
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
The Spectracide Bug Stop spray with AccuShot applicator is highly effective for pest control. The large size (1.33 gallons) lasts a long time, and the included sprayer makes application easy and mess free. I used it indoors and around the home exterior, and saw immediate results: ants, roaches, and even spiders were killed on contact. A major plus is that it doesn’t leave a strong odor or stains, making it perfect for indoor use near kitchens, doors, or windows. It also works great for prevention after spraying around the baseboards and entry points, I didn’t see bugs for days. Highly recommend for anyone needing an easy to use and long lasting insect control solution. ... show more

  • The spectride works good.
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
Container arrived with a crack on the bottom allowing leakage. The pump is poor quality and does not pump when tank is held at the waist high and nozzle is lifter up at arms length to spray on top of door frames. Pump often stopes pumping even when the motor is running. After contacting the company they are sending me a new pump. ... show more

  • Handled box eldars and asian ladybugs
Size: 1 Pack Style: 1.33 Gallon - AccuShot Sprayer
I have a 123 year old farmhouse, and every fall I get invaded by box elders and asian ladybugs. This year I bought this and applied it to the exterior of my house. It leaves a cloudy residue on windows, but nothing noticeable on my sidings and concrete. I have found maybe two lady bugs and zero box elders in my house since application, and it was in the middle of their swarming season. This stuff killed effectively, and continues to kill as I notice dead bugs constantly around the exterior of my home. The sprayer could really use some help though, the spray power was weak even with different settings, the powered option was very convenient, but the spray itself was weak and inconsistent. It's rained heavily a few times and I still have a great home bug barrier and I have confidence in this product. I dogs so I chose not to spray where the grass meets the house in the dog yard. ... show more
