    • Design fault in this radiator could have caused leakage.
I ordered this radiator to replace the original in my 2004 Honda Element. overall the fit was adequate, but I did experience several problems, one of which is noteworthy. The lower locator/mount holes for the main and condenser fans were smaller in diameter than the OEM radiator, so I had to enlarge the mount holes before the fans would orient correctly. One of the locking nuts for the primary cooling fans was incorrectly threaded, so I had to swap one from the old radiator. The big problem was that the fan control sensor mount in the bottom tank was wrong. The original radiator has a radius around the inner edge which mates with a small o-ring on the sensor, and the new radiator has a square profile which would have leaked severely because the o-ring doesn't touch anything. Since the sensor is a two wire, and doesn't ground, I was able to use sealing tape to seal the sensor. The only reason that I was able to use the radiator was that I've been a mechanic for years, and I look for this kind of failure. This could have been a fatal issue for a less experienced installer, and it should be corrected going forward ... show more

Great direct replacement. One issue though. You will need to get new transmissions hoses, the angles on the fittings won't make it work without issues

    • Works well/Not a perfect fit
Works ok but the fan holes did not like up. Had to leave one fan bolt out because of this. This may be because my car is a manual and this is clearly designed for an automatic. It has separate hookups for transmission fluid to run through. The manual does not need them.

It fit my 2003 element. Dont know what the 2 extra connections on the bottom go to but they dont drain the fluid.

This product is a great replacement for my OEM Radiator! I hit a deer a few months ago and my radiator was mangled. This product fit perfectly in my '03 Honda Element. I did learn that this radiator only comes as an automatic transmission replacement though. We called Honda and we confirmed with them that this radiator will work well as a replacement. ... show more

Fit my 2002 honda crv auto with no problem. Direct fit, even the fan holes lined up and auto transmission lines were correct. Also the transmission sensor threads were metal not plastic. Great product, so far so good no leaks!
