This leg press/hack squat machine has been the last missing piece of my home gym puzzle. Now that it's setup and I've used it for a workout, I'm happy I made this purchase. The machine came in 3 separate boxes, each item was bubble wrapped and numbered. The numbers lined up to the instructions. The nuts and bolts to put it all together were grouped by "step" in the instructions, which illustrated where the pieces and bolts go. Overall it took about an hour for me to put together by myself, then another 5 mins or so to go back through and fully tighten each bolt. Assembly was good, all the holes lined up, no issues, you can tell this was a well thought out product. The bearings are slightly noisier than a commercial machine, but for a fraction of the price. Plus, you'll be listening to music or a podcast anyways.

Solid piece of equipment. Sturdy even under max load with smooth glide range throughout. I gave it 4 stars because it was a good value and I figured out how to overcome the poor instructions and a major design flaw. The packaging was pretty good but several pieces were deeply scratched. Would’ve been nice if they included a little bottle of touch up paint. One of the hand grips was also torn during shipping. The instructions did not include a key piece of information regarding the slide rails. It came pre-assembled with a bolt in each of the support rails but didn’t mention what purpose they served. I quickly realized on my first use of the leg press that the slide rails bend under weight even though they are solid steel. Needless to say I now have two support rails with the paint gouged off about half way up where the slide rails started to bend under weight. See the picture I attached and make sure to tighten the bolt enough so it supports the slide rails on each side to ensure proper clearance. The big design flaw is the lower stopper prevents a full range of motion. I read this on one review but saw others that said they were my height or shorter and had full range. I’m 5’7” with normal proportions and have been powerlifting and bodybuilding for 45 years and can say without a doubt that the stopper is about 2 inches above where it should be in order to accommodate shorter people who seek a full range of motion. I simply use the calf raise attachment to elevate the bottom of the back cushion (see picture). That’s a hack I can live with for a solid piece of equipment at this price point. Finally I saw several complaints about the weight storage racks having a design flaw due to the triangular support preventing the weight from laying flat. Those reviewers are using bumper plates which are practically useless on a leg press. See my picture with a good old fashioned iron plate working just fine. Bumper plates are too thick for the length of the load bearing bars so you would only be able to load about half of the max weight load before you ran out of bar length. The overall design is very space efficient and takes one of the smallest footprints I’ve found. The under mount weight carriage is a great space saver. The weight racks would be more useful if vertically mounted but again I don’t expect everything to be perfect at this price point. It’s a sturdy functional leg press/hack squat machine that doesn’t require much space and can handle a decent amount of weight. Those are the main features I was looking for even if I have to rig the leg press to gain full range of motion and live with some gouges in the paint.

We are using the machine as a leg press instead of a squat machine. Very sturdy and strong machine. Easy to put together. Hold a lot of weight. Well worth my money.

I ordered the Spart Fitness hack squat/leg press combo machine on Nov 5. The boxes came relatively quickly. I immediately noticed that There were several missing several parts. I contacted Spart Fitness and informed them that I was missing parts. I was asked to send photos of the parts that I have because the amount of missing parts was unusual. Once the photos were sent, I was told that the parts would be on the way. Spart Fitness would only respond once per day. therefore, to get to that point, it took almost two weeks. A month later, still no parts. I was assured that the parts would be shipped and I would have a tracking number within three days. 7 days later, I contacted and let them know that I had not heard anything. I was assured it was on the way... Two months from purchase, I was given a refund. I was told to discard the parts I have. So, I have a large pile of leg press/hack squat parts on my floor and no idea where to put them.

Easy to put together if you have some knowledge Use power tools for ease I'm 5 foot 5 can easily reach platform which has several adjustments as well as the seat for comfort and good form It's somewhat compact which I like Also if you have 1" plates you can easily use by taking the larger metal sleeve off which I did as I have tons of plates with a 1" hole and it fits perfectly use a clamp like you have on the barbell Have fun stay fit For anyone shorter I'm 5 foot 5 I click the foot plate into the 2nd stop that way I can easily reach the plate

My only recommendation is, the Instruction video should at least have captions notifying what stage it is in since that is the way the hardware packaging is labeled. Other than that, it is fairly easy to figure out if you have a little common sense. The equipment itself is sturdy, especially for the price point.
