Super thick, sturdy, and well made. The buckle is a little strange but it’s of great quality and definitely secure. Something thick that my pit can’t slip out of. The width is great as well as the handle as it ensures you have a good grip on your dog without choking him. It’s a little weighty but my dog easily falls asleep wearing it sometimes. Highly recommend this for anyone with ONE dog. As this could be a hazard with multiple dogs due to the handle. So maybe don’t leave on inside the home. ... show more

    • This collar is the only one you’ll need for a strong dog!
I have had this collar for over a year and a half for my 80lb very strong Great Pyrenees mix. This collar is so comfortable on him and it is so easy to detach by pressing two buttons and opening. It goes back on with just a click. These are not plastic parts! The parts that click in are made from metal and the collar itself is some kind of softer material against the neck but but extra durable strap. My dog is muscular and pulls as he is only 1 1/2 now. The handle is a great feature to stop him from pulling or jumping when grandma comes over. He gets excited, she always brings him a dog bone. I cannot believe how well this collar has held up through rains and pulling and oh yes, a dog that just doesn’t want to come inside! I grab the handle and pull him in! The breed loves the outdoors and I don’t like to leave him unattended even though my yard is fenced in. In between his grooming every 8 weeks he gets dirty, I even keep his collar on when bathing him so I can position him. Best collar ever! ... show more

My tank of German breaks collars easy. I bought this for her and its super thick, comfy, she's had 2 of them, mostly because I changed colors, and hasn't broken one yet, I went through like 6 collars in her first 2 years til I found this one, she also breaks steel dog kennels. Listen she's trained, she's just really smart when we aren't around. Lol ... show more

It is a very beautiful collar, but unfortunately it doesn't really work for my dog because of the weight of the buckle. The gravity pulls it towards the ground, it makes it very inconvenient. You have to adjust it very tightly to make it stop turning downward towards the ground, but then the dog is uncomfortable. Also, you can't take it to the beach (as we learnt today). The sand gets into the buckle, and it's stuck. I really loved it, but unfortunately will have to return it. It could work for breeds with more fur, but not for my pitbull. I wish it would come in a lighter version with a lighter buckle, really really loved the color, it is beautiful and suits my dog very much. Don't really want to return it, but it just doesn't work for us. ... show more

This is our 3rd collar (our dog is rough on collars) from this company and we love them. The handle allows us to control our dog in close quarters (e.g when someone is at the door) while the metal clip is sturdy. the colors are bright and the collar wears really well. Our dog is 70-ish lbs.

My 50 lb pit bull is so strong and she loves to pull and lunge at birds and cats. We used to use a choke collar and it did work to an extent. It made her pull less, but we noticed that it also pinched at the fur on the underside of her neck. Also, she got excited at the dog park and one of the prongs on the plastic clasp snapped on her choke collar, so what were we supposed to do then? Hubby had to carry her to the car and leave the park. I’m so glad I found this thick, sturdy collar! It has better control/guidance than the regular 1” collars. It also doesn’t make her gag like the 1” ones would when she does pull hard. The inside of the collar is soft and lined with neoprene, giving a bit of cushion. The clasp is all metal and feels really sturdy. The D-ring is huge, thick and solid for hooking her leash onto. It is a bit tricky to unclasp if my dog is moving around. Sometimes, if I don’t press both release prongs at the same time, it just stays connected at an angle. Then I have to push it back in to fully reconnect before it can be removed. I’ve learned to hold onto the D-ring with my left hand, and release the prongs with my right for a fast, smooth disconnect. But I wanted to emphasize that it only happens sometimes and wouldn’t deter me from buying this again. In fact, I’ve got my eye on a pastel one, which I hope Spark Paws will offer here on Amazon soon😉 ... show more
