This is a great little saw that surprised us with its performance. It is very sharp and you need to be careful for sure. This saw is very light and easy to use. It seems to work best to put the branch closest to the handle and then the branch will not bounce around. The batteries lasted quite a while. We actually did not even get a chance to use both batteries because it was cutting great for us trimming trees and shrubs. We were cutting branches up to about 3" with it easily with2 hands on the saw. One handed cutting is good, just a little bouncy sometimes depending on the wood. We bought pink , and my wife loves it. This little powerhouse is one of the best things I've bought on Amazon in the last couple of years. The price is so low that the risk is minimal. If it didn't work I could just return it. But right out of the box, this mini chainsaw was a delight. It cut through branches like a hot knife through butter, and the battery lasted longer than I did: By that I mean that I had cut everything I wanted the first day and there was still plenty of juice left. I used it again over the next two or three days before I recharged it. I had been planning to have a professional come and do some yard cleanup (limbs, branches, small trees) after a storm. But with this remarkable little chainsaw, I was able to accomplish all the work myself. Even the brush removal was minimized, since I could so easily cut branches down into small logs for the fireplace. The savings of not having to hire additional help has now paid for the chainsaw at least ten times over so far, and it's still working fine. I'm delighted to offer such a great review. This little dynamo really delivers! Some caveats: I'm a fairly fit man, generally handy and comfortable with power tools. Although this tool so small and easy to handle that it actually looks like a toy, it is very powerful. In the wrong hands it could really hurt someone. I would advise extreme caution if there are any children around. It has good safety measures built into it, but any power tool can be dangerous if used improperly. Since this is designed to cut things, and since it works very well, it is more dangerous than most other power tools. Be sure that it's used only by responsible adults. ... show more

    • When it isn't overheated, works great

I'd been thinking about a small electric chainsaw for a while. The price on this one was irresistible. I got it on a Saturday and immediately took it to my wood pile. I had about 30 small branches, 2-3 inches thick, and it made short work of cutting these 8 to 12 footers to 18 inch segments. Then I wanted to see how it did on 6 inch thick stuff. It buzzed through a half dozen cuts and stopped. I swapped the battery and it took off again to complete the task. It began but stalled again. Today I took it out again and finished a bunch of little stuff. This little guy is a workhorse but only for the really little stuff, 2 - 4 inches. It's a useful tool to me, and I just bought a second one so if one overheats I can swap it for the other. Battery life is an issue. I got about 30 minutes per battery. A thought occurs to me that I did keep the trigger pulled between cuts. That might lend itself to the overheating. I really wish I had bought one of these sooner, as it's really inconvenient to use a large saw for the little stuff. At my age, it's also great because it is very light weight. I'm certain I will always have one of these when I'm pruning trees because it is so light weight. I'm left handed, the safety trigger switch is designed for all of you righties out their.     • It did what I needed it to do

I was hesitant to buy this as the price seemed too good to be true. I did not have high expectations, but it did what I needed it to do. I had some large limbs I needed to cut up for firewood kindling. Using a full-size chainsaw was not the easiest or safest thing to use on smaller tree limbs. A bow saw was taking too long. This little saw zipped right through everything I had. I needed to change the battery one time, but to be honest, I had not given it a full charge before I used it. I had limbs anywhere from 1”-3” in diameter. The saw feels comfortable in your hand, fairly well balanced. When I finished cutting up the large limbs, which only took minutes, I decided to try it on larger limbs still on the tree. It zipped right through 4 and 5” limbs. I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot say how long the saw will last as I have not used it more than a couple of times, but for the price, if it does more than a handful of jobs, you got your moneys worth of use out of it. I gave it five stars because it did what I bought it for with no problems. It comes with a nice case, an extra battery, extra chain, safety glasses and gloves. You will have to manually oil the chain as there is no oil tank to feed the chain as you have on a full-size chainsaw. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical of it's durability for the price. I've probably got 12 hours of cutting time on it and it's going great. Get several hours out of a battery charge. Light enough to use and control with one hand.
