The media could not be loaded. Printing with this PETG filament was a surprisingly smooth experience. PETG can be temperamental at times, but this spool performed beautifully; no stringing issues at all, and the tree supports came off effortlessly. The multicolor gradient is stunning and adds a unique touch to every print. From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed. The vacuum-sealed bag was airtight, and I always enjoy that satisfying hiss when puncturing the seal; like the filament taking its first breath. I pushed the limits a bit by printing faster than the recommended speeds, but it handled it like a champ. In fact, the very first print I ran was a 10-hour job, and it came out great (as shown in the photos). One feature I really appreciated was the clear indication of the color change interval—about every 26 feet. That helped me plan my prints more precisely and anticipate the transitions. Over the course of 20 hours of printing (roughly 90 meters or 270 grams), I didn’t run into any issues. If anything changes, I’ll be sure to update this review. The only thing I’d love to see is a wider variety of color options. With performance this solid, I’d definitely come back for more. The media could not be loaded. The Sovol SH02 filament dryer has really impressed me. Right out of the box, it feels well-made and thoughtfully designed. It heats up quickly and includes preset profiles for different filament types, which makes drying materials like PLA, PETG, or Nylon super convenient. One of the details I really appreciate is the gasket between the lid and the body—it seals the chamber properly. This is a big improvement over the Creality dryer, which is more expensive and yet just has plastic-on-plastic contact, no gasket at all. The LCD display is responsive, but it’s also very sensitive. You need to be careful not to press too hard or you’ll distort the screen, similar to pressing too hard on an old monitor. Despite that, it works well and gets the job done. I live in Florida, where humidity is always high, and I’ve actually seen this dryer bring the internal humidity down to single-digit percentages, which is impressive. That said, as the filament dries, it releases moisture into the chamber, and the built-in vent on top just isn’t big enough to handle that. I’ve found that cracking the lid briefly vents the humid air very effectively—you can see the humidity level drop almost instantly. After a few cycles of doing this, the chamber stabilizes with low humidity even with the lid fully closed. It’s like opening a bathroom door after a hot shower—once you let the steam out, the environment inside resets. Overall, I think Sovol nailed it with this dryer. With a bit of manual venting, it delivers performance that rivals or beats more expensive options. It’s a solid buy, especially if you deal with high humidity.

This works well. It is easy to change the settings according to which filament type you have; you dial up ASA for example and it goes to the correct temperature. You can set the dry time in 2-hour increments. After that it just does its thing. You can also feed the filament out of it, straight to your printer. I like this dryer.

I got this filament dryer because I was tired of brittle, moisture-affected filament ruining prints, and honestly it’s made a noticeable difference. It’s big enough to fit two 1 kg spools at once, which is nice if you’re running more than one printer or like to keep a backup dry and ready. You can set the temperature for different filament types with a simple touch-screen setup, and it gets up to temp pretty quickly thanks to the built-in PTC heater. Using it has noticeably reduced the popping, stringing, and poor layer adhesion I was seeing with engineering filaments such as PPA or CF-ASA straight out of the bag. The sealed box stays tight even when it’s off, so your spools stay protected from humidity and dust when you’re not drying them. It’s been especially handy when switching between materials that love to absorb moisture. It’s not totally perfect — if you have very long setups with the filament fed through holes in the lid, you might have to fiddle a bit to get a smooth feed — but for the price it’s done exactly what I was hoping it would. Improved print quality immensely, and solved some of the print issues I was attributing to other factors. Definitely worth it if your prints keep looking off because your filament has picked up moisture.
