I have cauliflower ears from years of grappling. So it's hard to find earbuds that fit. The way these are constructed, they fit nicely without digging into scar tissue, like they're made for someone with small ears. The silicone wings help keep them in, and there are multiple sizes. I've returned multiple earbuds the last few weeks that didn't fit, so for me, the hard part was over (finally). The sound is pretty good! Maybe a half step below the $300 Bose QC I tried. Rich heavy rock sound, and I can clearly hear the vocals and each instrument. Good noise cancellation for buds, especially in the wind. Where these things really shine is the AI "Thus" noise cancellation on the microphone. My Dad is in his 80's, and can't stand the wind, fan, traffic, blinker, etc. noise when I call him in the car. He'll end it even when he really wants to talk. Today I turned off the AC, rolled down the windows driving 50 mph, was at a rush hour stoplight next to a rumbling diesel work truck, used my blinker, and I used a normal talking voice. He didn't even know I was driving! He said it sounded like I was sitting next to him. If you work or talk a lot from your car, you NEED to give these a try. I haven't used the AI dictation feature, nor the sleeping/meditation sounds. They can shove their subscription fees on a product I've already purchased up their a. The case display is interesting and can do a few "nice to have" things. I was hoping for a beacon finder type feature, but the buds can only do a high pitched sound if you're already connected with Bluetooth. I need to find a screen protector something to keep the case screen from getting scratched.

These are almost exactly what I wanted from the AirPods Pro 3. I have both these, and the AirPods and I spent a little bit of time comparing there sound, fit, battery, case and features, and call quality. When it comes to the sound I found the two earbuds to be very similar (on there default settings) but the Soundcores have an advantage do the multitude of sound presets, and it’s 8 band eq customization. I use the “Soundcore Balanced” preset and it sounds just as good if not better than the AirPods in some tracks. I’m not an audiophile so I can’t narrow down the differences in base, treble, or mids but I can tell you that I prefer the Soundcores sound profile. When it comes to the anc I found the that the Soundcores, and AirPods perform very similarly as both of them are excellent. But the AirPods have a clear edge when it comes to transparency mode because of the more clear, and natural sound. For me the Soundcores fit better than the AirPods do to the different sized ear tips, and wings. These come with small, medium (pre installed), and large ear tips, and wings and the medium sizes fit my ears perfect, the ear wings ensure that the fit will be more secure vs the AirPods which have a greater chance of falling out of your ear do to the lack of them. but the AirPods also have a pretty good fit. The Soundcores do fall short when it comes to battery life compared to the AirPods due to the extra ai features, and screen but this is a trade off you should expect for a product like this. With anc on I got 1 or 2 hours less playback time than the AirPods. The case is probably the biggest selling point for the Soundcores. They do have a set of cons to note which is the weaker water resistance, and durability due to the screen, as well as the bigger, bulkier size none of which are a problem for the AirPods more compact case. The screen on the Soundcores can freeze up and lag every now and then but this can be prevented by using the reset button on the cases settings menu. If you’re willing to make these sacrifices then the case is perfect. These feature an amoled touch screen that let you control almost every feature the earbuds have to offer which includes the anc and transparency, sound preset, multi point connection (up to 3 devices compared to the AirPods 2 device limit), and your play and pause menu. These even let you control your phones camera shutter which is crazy. There are too many features going on with the case for me to fit in this review plus there are more features you can access in the Soundcore app. But based on what I just wrote these are more feature packed than the AirPods. When it comes to call quality Soundcores claim for “worlds best call quality” isn’t a lie I called someone while playing a loud song on my Edifier pc speakers with both the windows, and speaker volume at max. I was right next to the speakers and the person on the other end of the phone asked “what music” After I asked if they could hear it. Another person I was calling couldn’t hear the loud heavy metal a friend was playing at near full volume while I was in the car with them. And these are perfect for talking to people with zero interruptions cause they COMPLETELY delete any sound made by other people giving your voice complete isolation. The AirPods also sound great for calls and even do better in more quiet environments as they make your voice sound more clear, and natural to the other caller. But the Soundcores will have the advantage in louder environments. Overall when directly comparing both sets of earbuds the Soundcores for me edge out the AirPods do to the reasons listed before which is the sound profile, fit, case features, and call quality. If you plan on primarily using the Soundcores for an iPhone than these will be great since the Soundcores have the mfi (made for IPhone) certification so these will work almost as if Apple themselves made them, but it’s also important to note that the Soundcores are not only fully compatible on Android devices, but because the case gives you access to the majority of the earbuds features they also work great for any device that doesn’t have access to the Soundcore app (like Windows’s pcs) making these very versatile, and considering that the the Liberty 5 pro maxes cost $230 vs the AirPods pro 3 $250 it makes the value of these even better.

I initially wrote a very harsh review of the new Liberty 5 Pro Max because I felt that the company incorrectly advertised a far larger set of AI note taking capabilities than the system actually has. This still needs attention but Anker support reached out to me to explain that the marketing for the product had gotten a little ahead of the software development plan and that the features I needed are coming later this year. In short, you can only use the AI note taker for in-person meetings right now where the microphone in the case can hear what's being said in the room, so online meetings or phone calls can't be transcribed or summarized by the note taker. With that problem addressed, here's a less frustrated review of the rest of the system: Pros: - Excellent sound quality, maybe not audiophile level but that's not what earbuds are for - Top notch noise cancellation, on par with Apple Airpods Pro 3 - Shockingly good sound fidelity on both ends of a phone call, does great reducing ambient noise on my end - Form factor- they look odd but actually fit and stay put better than my Airpods - Customer support- I own several Anker products including device chargers and their exceptional Soundcore Sleep buds and although this is my first time needing support, they knocked it out of the park. Cons: - Case touchscreen isn't as responsive as I'd like, takes a few tries to get it to respond - Case is a little bulkier than I'd prefer but that's the cost of having the screen and the extra microphone, etc. - The aforementiond software shortcomings, which are being addressed

I am a loyal user for Huawei freebuds pro headsets since the first gen till date with Freebuds pro 4, I couldn't find any headset that can provide a call quality like what I am getting from the freebuds pro 4. I watched by if sudden many videos for the Soundcore Liberty 5 pro max, immediately I ordered despite the fact I am living in Dubai, waiting for 10 days to get the headset, wow, received, quickly open the box charge it fully, connect to my Honor Magic V5, run the recorder start recording while the radio volume is high, driving speed 100km/hr, listening to the recorded voice, very disappointed, catching all vocals except mine, angry, open Amazon app, complete the refund request... Wait wait, I got a call from colleague, I don't know why I connect the headset again, I was shocked, Radio running, window is open, she asked, are you in the office?? I said, what? I am in the car and the radio is running, window is open, she didn't believe, I raised the volume to 40 creating more noise, but she still cannot hear any noise, I disconnect the headset during the call, she was shocked more than me, how come this headset cqn isolate everything. I open Amazon, canceled the refund request. The issue I observed, that the native recorded app doesn't use the external mic to record, installed Film it, tried to record video in different senarios with the Soundcore headset, the result was so impressive. Conclusion, this is the best headset that I ever used in my life, nothing can be compared with the mic quality during the calls or Teams, r3ally I love this headset, it is little bit expensive but it is worth every penny. Recommend it to anyone interested in the best call quality headset. Thanks Soundcore for this great product

I've gone through a few pairs of wireless earbuds over the years, and the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max earbuds are easily the best-sounding pair I've owned. The low end has real depth without turning muddy, mids are clear, and vocals sit right where they should — nothing feels overcooked by an aggressive EQ preset. Using the HearID personalization feature to tune the sound to my own hearing made a noticeable difference too; it's a nice touch that a lot of competitors skip. The noise cancellation is the real standout, though. I've used them on flights, in busy coffee shops, and in an open office, and each time the ANC does a legitimately great job of flattening out ambient noise — HVAC hum, chatter, traffic — without making the audio feel hollow or pressurized, which is a complaint I've had with other ANC earbuds in the past. Call quality is also strong; several people I've talked to on calls mentioned they could barely tell I wasn't in a quiet room. Battery life holds up well for a full workday, and the 5-minutes-of-charging-for-4-hours-of-playback feature has bailed me out more than once when I forgot to charge them overnight. As a bonus, the case's AI Note-Taker is a nice extra for in-person meetings — it's not the reason I'd buy these, but it's a genuinely useful feature to have in your back pocket when you need it. Bottom line: If you care about sound quality and want ANC that actually holds up in noisy real-world environments, these are worth it.

I will keep this reciew short and precise, after 2 weeks of using this here are my findings: Overall rating 2.5/5 (3/5) if AI transcription worked ⭐️⭐️⭐️ What they are great for: • I would recommend them for daily use, • ANC and Ambient mode are great What they can do better: • Eartips comfort • ANC is sometimes lost on one side (left) • Case is recording but not picking up any sound, so AI transcription is not working, even after reset and a week of troubleshooting. • Bass • Basic earbud settings like "find my earbuds", "wear detection", are missing on the case, • AI translation must get fixed • Battery on the case is terrible because of the screen Sound (3/5) With my best EQ it's good, nice and warm, clear but veiled. The bass is basic, nothing exciting, to this day the 3rd generation remains the last basshead friendly entry, however, it's still better than the 4th gen. Spatial audio is bad compared to the others. At this price you can find better sound. Controls (5/5) Excellent Fit and comfort (2.5/5) It fits snuggly but well, it is very stable, the eartips can get very itchy and that reduces the comfort alot. When smiling, due to the snug design they can get tight and itchy. Design and quality (3./5) I took the gold one. It's the only color I think is nice. The screen on the case has exceptional quality. It's laminated unlike others. ANC (4/5) Great, Final thoughts: My overall ranking 3.5/5 rounded down

After using the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max for several days, I can honestly say these are some of the most impressive earbuds I’ve owned. The first thing that stood out to me was the sound quality. The audio is rich, detailed, and powerful without sounding muddy. Bass is deep and satisfying, vocals are clean, and the overall clarity is excellent across different music genres. Whether listening to music, podcasts, or watching videos, everything sounds premium. The noise cancellation is seriously impressive. Once ANC is turned on, background sounds almost completely disappear. I tested them around household appliances, at work, and in noisy environments, and they performed far better than I expected for earbuds. They are getting very close to over-ear headphone level noise canceling. Transparency mode is also excellent. Voices and surrounding sounds come through naturally without sounding robotic or overly amplified. It actually feels safe and comfortable using them in public while still being aware of what’s happening around me. Comfort was another big surprise. With the different ear tips and ear fins included, I was able to get a very secure fit. They stay in place during walking, workouts, and daily activities without constantly adjusting them. The charging case deserves its own mention. The touchscreen is not just a gimmick — it’s genuinely useful. Being able to quickly switch modes, check battery life, and control settings directly from the case is incredibly convenient. The sliding design also feels premium and satisfying to use. The app is packed with features and customization options. I especially liked the hearing test, EQ adjustments, adaptive modes, and personalized sound settings. Everything feels polished and easy to use. Battery life has also been solid so far, and call quality has been clear on both ends. Overall, these earbuds feel like a true premium product and offer an incredible amount of features for the price. Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max — Great Sound, Terrible Case Reliability I received my Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max earbuds on September 1. On September 3, the case froze on the screen displaying “Change Wallpaper” and became completely unresponsive. I did not drop it, hit it, or expose it to water. This is especially disappointing because exactly the same problem happened with my previous pair, which I returned. Now it has happened again with a brand-new pair for the second time. I even purchased a protective film and a protective case immediately to keep the device safe. The earbuds themselves are excellent. The sound quality is impressive, the noise cancellation works very well, the touch controls are responsive, the fit is comfortable, and they are great for working out. The basic concept of a charging case with a display is also innovative. Unfortunately, the implementation is unreliable. Why should I pay extra for a display on the case if the display freezes and cannot be used? The AI transcription feature also does not work properly, including the connection between the case and the transcription function. It is strange that the case can show a recording, while the earbuds themselves apparently cannot handle this function properly. The Anka AI assistant is practically useless. This product has excellent sound and a great idea behind it, but the execution is unacceptable. I have always supported Soundcore and admired the brand’s products, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Now I have to decide whether to return the earbuds again and wait another month for a replacement or refund, or continue using them while completely ignoring the display I paid for. I am tired of dealing with repeated returns. Unfortunately, I will not buy these earbuds again, and I cannot recommend them to others.
