  • Best home karaoke I've own Best home karaoke I've own
Color: Black Number of Items: 2
I am an audio enthusiasts and have semi pro dj set-up for small events, mostly karaoke. I can't use it at home , it will be over kill. I was looking for a small set-up for home karaoke , something minimalist to match my jamo and klipsch home audio and found this absolutely beautiful small but powerful home karaoke unit. Pros - quality build, mic response, clarity, simplicity, price, multiple options for input and output [hdmi and optical] wow. I got compliments today 1st time using it. Cons - non so far, but I hope this unit lasts longer as I plan to use it weekly. Lastly, im using the TV optical output to this unit then output optical to my Denon receiver, so then I have options to use the different audio settings, not just plain stereo. Amazing sound quality. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. 06/19 update , I tried using it for a small bday event about 100 people and open air venue. The performance was okay but it drops ones in a while when your about 50ft or more away. I still get nice voice quality though. ... show more

  • Superior gadget wiothin the price range
Color: Black & Blue & Orange Number of Items: 2
It is a very nice gadget for home kareoke and other applications requiring mixing multiple soun sources with a live stream from a HDMI. Pros: 1. Great sound mixing features including controlled echo using two wireless microphones (provoded) or your own plugged in mic, or a musical instrument instead combined with an audio/video stream. 2. Sound quality very good for my ear 3. Many connectivity options including audio/video stream from any HDMI device like Chromecast, a DVD player or a PC with HDMI output. Such PC can be controlled by any mobile device to produce the desired kareoke clip. You can also output sound via Bluetooth, ora cable with 3.5mm jack, or using the optical cable. 4. Responsive user support via email ready to assist you with problems you may initially have Cons: 1 Not easy to use by a non technical person but once some guidance provided by someone who knows and explained, anyone can use the device from then on. This is because of many devices possible to be connected with, and each causing different problems. 2. User manual is very small font hard to read, but it can be found on the net so you can print it in a biger size. 3.Relation to Smart TV is not easy to grasp becaue of variety of Smart TV properties and otions. 4. Potential problems with the microphon output, delayed to an unacceptable level but that was found entirely related to the smart TV (LG) sound processing features which luckily could be bypased after finding the right TV setings thus restoring minimum delay acceptable performance. ... show more

  • no delay for karaoke with streaming device setup, 2 channel audio output only no delay for karaoke with streaming device setup, 2 channel audio output only
Color: Blue & Orange Number of Items: 2
With this box, you can have two wireless mics add audio to any show, or karaoke video. Echo effect also great for karaoke. My setup: * https://www.amazon.com/Epson-PowerLite-Home-Cinema-Projector/dp/B0044UHJWY * https://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR636-7-2-Ch-Network-Receiver/dp/B00IQ0SE22 * https://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-SHIELD-Gaming-Streaming-GeForce/dp/B01N1NT9Y6 Just unplug streaming device (for me the SHIELD), connect that into the mixer, the mixer into the same spot on the receiver. There's no passive passthrough, you need to have the device on, this does affect multichannel audio, see below. The SHIELD and the Onkyo combo has no delay with this mixer that I could notice, audio and video are synced. With my projector setup, and the output from the mixer going to the receiver, there's no ARC audio return involved, which is the selling point of this device over its predecessor SWM15-HBT https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F8GZVX2. I got this new one in case I want to move the box to a smart TV / soundbar setup, which would be much cleaner with ARC support, I'll update this review when I try it out. I can confirm now that it can do all its predecessor claimed for a full HDMI solution with video from a separate source like the SHIELD or a Roku, outputting to an HDMI receiver, and adds two mics to anything you watch. The mics are OK, I got these foam covers https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019OO4IY6 for them. They connect out of the box once activated. Even if not set too loud they can add echo to anyone's voice and recreate a karaoke bar vibe really well. The only real drawback is that as far as I can tell this mixer only outputs 2ch audio on the hdmi output. That is, if you have a 5.1 or other surround sound setup, you'll only get audio out of front left and right, you'll lose digital dolby or dts. This is fine during karaoke mode, on my setup, youtube just works in stereo while playing videos and singing into the mics. But when not using karaoke, watching a Netflix show or renting a move in surround, you'll notice you're losing out and only getting stereo. As mentioned if this box had a hdmi passthrough mode when not needing any mixing, and that mode preserved digital multichannel audio, only going to stereo when actively mixing, it would be a perfect device. As it is, if you want multichannel you'll be swapping a few cables around. I'm going to pick up an HDMI splitter and try using two different input modes on my receiver. This should avoid me touching wires, will switch a mode on receiver and one will get multichannel, one 2 channel plus mics, with same video feed. Not sure if there is a viable solution with multichannel using splitters that would work with ARC audio return. I was looking for a simple full HDMI solution for karaoke for a long time and this is the closest I've found so far. My previous setup was super janky, using a laptop, one wired mic, cables everywhere, not looking cool for the karaoke party guests. This little box is tiny, never moves, the mics just work, on standard AAs, and full wireless is key. This plus youtube app is a perfect karaoke setup, you can set up queues on your phone and cast it to the TV. If you care about surround sound normally you'll be doing some cable shuffling, or getting a splitter, to get it ready. But once set up using the mics themselves is super easy and the setup will look super polished for any karaoke partygoers. ... show more

  • I Love Hearing My Voice Half A Second Late 🙃
Color: Black & Blue & Orange Number of Items: 2
This product deserves 0 stars. No exaggeration. I work in electronics repair and build audio equipment for my home studio in my spare time. I would not recommend anyone purchase this product. My wife has been begging for a karaoke microphone to use recreationally at home. I found this product while watching an LTT video on YouTube and liked the idea of being able to keep this plugged into an Apple TV in our living room. Its simple enough that my technologically challenged wife should have no issue using it when I'm not around. I read reviews that there is some delay and other reviews that it was fine. I assumed that a small amount of delay would bearable for my wife that just wants to have some fun with our child during their spare time. So, I pulled the trigger and purchased this as a Christmas gift for my wife. Being a gift for my wife, I did not open or try the product until my wife opened it. That was a mistake. I plugged our Apple TV 4K into the unit, and first positive thing I noticed was that CEC works! Pressing the power button on the Apple TV remote turns on our Samsung TV and Yamaha amplifier, but then... no image. Okay, sure.. I half expected the 4K signal to be too much for this cheap of a product to handle. I was prepared! I had her laptop ready to plug in as well. I forced the signal to 1080p on both the laptop and TV. We have an image! Awesome, not too hard, I can save those settings, and its just one extra step for my wife. She can manage that. So, we open up YouTube, throw on a lyric video, and begin to sing.. and immediately hear the absolute worse delay I've ever experienced in my life.. Of all the cheap audio equipment paired with underpowered computers that I learned on as teenager, this has hands down the worse response time ever. That said, I wasn't going to give up. My profession is fixing electronics. I had some ideas on how to reduce the delayed response. I turn the TV into PC mode to reduce latency to the absolute minimum. I do use this for playing games on my PC via optical cabling from a distant room, and successfully with no perceivable delay. I also grabbed a couple 1m high-speed HDMI cables to rule out any issues with signal loss over the length of cables, since the cables I originally used were both 2m. Even with all of this, the response time makes this product absolutely unusable. Its not a pleasant experience to be adequately singing along side music and your voice is almost half a second late. This is even while standing directly next to the receiver.. HEED MY WARNING! DO NOT BUY! ... show more

  • Easy to get up and running, some quality control issues and gimmicky features Easy to get up and running, some quality control issues and gimmicky features
Color: Black Number of Items: 2
My family wanted to upgrade our karaoke system and I thought this would be an easy way to get up and running with our TV and soundbar and an open-source karaoke system to queue Youtube karaoke videos. It did its basic job of mixing microphone input with the the karaoke feed from youtube but the tone and music adjustments seem to do very little to alter the sound from the microphones. Also, the light up buttons don't stay lit after initial power on, one is bright, others are dim or vary in brightness. I found little difference in effect between Echo and Reverb, but there is a difference from just leaving the effect at Normal, so I just left it on Echo all the time. If I could rate this SoundTown SWM15-MAX more precisely, I would rate it 3.5 stars as it's a kit that includes what you need to get up and running with minimal effort. For my setup, I connected a linux computer running an opensource karaoke application for queuing youtube karaoke songs to the HD IN port, then HD out to my TV, which outputted the audio to my Samsung soundbar. Microphones sound good and had no issues with wireless range. Vocal volume is on the low side since the effect buttons have little effect. On some videos, the music was too low but the music adjustment also had little noticeable impact. There doesn't seem to be a way to pair the microphones to the base so if you have to replace them, you might have to buy the same brand. However, one of the reasons I chose this model specifically is because I already have microphones with wireless 1/4-inch receivers so I could easily plug them into the front jacks and use them. I think a better option for me would be to buy a mixer and use my existing microphones that would allow me to have more control over the sound and overall function. ... show more

  • Perfect for Mic sound mixed and out over HDMI
Color: Black Number of Items: 2
This Karaoke system solves exact issue of HDMI IN and OUT; YES sound out over HDMI. At this price range seems this is the only product that does mic sound mix over HDMI and doesn't degrade original content quality. Only issue I found which is irritating but not blocking functionality is every time you want to start the setup you need to force restart the mixer otherwise the signal from player - in my case Apple TV - wont reach the target system - in my case AVR. ... show more

  • Okay but overpriced
Color: Black Number of Items: 2
So it's got an annoying low warbling sound output from whatever speaker it's connected to. Changing settings will momentarily cause it to go away but it comes back in a few seconds. Singing will overpower it and it won't be an issue but between songs it gets on your nerves. Video provided so you can hear it. Also, the wireless mics have a noticible delay in the output. For anyone that sings professionally this will be noticed and will be an irritant. Microphones are also not very sensitive and there is a slight buzz in the output. Will it "do" what you need it to do? Yes, but overall it's a poor quality system for the price. **UPDATE** I used wired microphones and almost all the issues are gone. So the problem is the wireless microphones. Still a very slight delay but that's not going away just due to sound propagation. So you're going to need wired mics to get any descent performance so buying a system with two mics you're not going to use? Probably not the best purchase. ... show more

This works great with my TV with arc HDMI as output, passes sound through to my sonos soundbar/system. Input from my macbook pro works great as well. I like the compact size and it has all the controls I need. Mic range doesn't seem awesome but I really don't care about that, maybe in a large venue it might be an issue. ... show more
