I did have to shorten the chains that comes with it, so your trees could probably actually be about a foot further apart than mine are but you probably wouldn’t want them much closer together than 10.5’-11’. I not only love the color, it is so comfortable. I rent my house in Hawaii and I bought it for the guests. I bought several hammocks from Home Depot they don't last and they're not comfortable. Wow this hammock was better than expected. Super soft, seems strong, and soooo comfortable. It cradles you so you do not feel like you could tip out. Perfect size to fit between my 9ft posts. My other rope hammock was far too long and resulted in me sitting on the pavers when I sat in it!!! This hammock is a great color and so much more comfortable than my old rope one. Looks great and feels great!
