I was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews, but figured if it didn't work out, Amazon has a great return policy. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I was almost able to give it a 5 star rating. First off, it has sturdy construction and the casters are heavy duty. My only mark off is because one of the mounting holes was not threaded. The piece that was installed in that position was light, so I opted to go with just three mounting screws. I could have used a small bolt as an alternative. The side table option is useful. The table fits into some brackets on the side of the case. There is no locking mechanism for these side brackets. I was concerned that the table might get bumped and our side equipment would fall on the floor. So I bolted a small piece of wood over top of the brackets to secure the table connector from coming loose. Overall, very happy. A big improvement. And the top shelf was perfect for our Behringer X32 producer mixer. I am not able to fit the top cover on, but I don't care. ... show more

This is 100% perfect for what I needed. I was worried at first but this is very sturdy. I have three amps and a active crossover installed. I have my mixer and laptop on the table and the controller board angled on top of the cabinet. This is well worth the purchase. The wheels are also sturdy.

So I was gonna give this one 5 .. but we just had the corner of the board on the snap where the wheel is; and through that found out the bottom panel that the wheels are screwed into is pressboard, and not wood. Talked to vendor today, and they offered a replacement but it would also be MDF, so I replaced that panel with plywood today and probably adding some reinforcement to the sides. Otherwise, so far seems ok; the panels work well even for students. The rack mounts are fine tho I'd have liked the adjustable "raising" thing on top to come a little higher. ... show more

I just spent a lot of money on other equipment and needed a quick rack to store my gear on the cheap. For the people leaving poor reviews and saying for the price they expected better quality. I would say these racks are super inexpensive compared to other brands. What I can say so far as I just recieved it is: it came perfectly intact. The build for the price seems quite good. What I expect from cases I have owned in the past with the same type if outer paneling, do not leave it in the hot sun. It will probably warp. We'll see how it fairs with use. My equipment is heavy and this case will see a fair share of beating. I didn't have any dents or missing hardware when it arrived like mentioned in 1 star ratings. It came perfect and well packed. The caster wheels seem sturdy. Not trying to talk down on the brand, however, like mentioned above- the price point is low. My low point so far, is the rachet seems a bit flimsy. I can see it possibly failing. So I hope this case last me for a bit until I can afford more expensive brands. But, I haven't even taken it out once yet. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and it will last for several years. So far I like it and it looks good. I will update my review after some use. ... show more

We have a small 4-piece band that uses a 16 channel mixer, two amps and some processor boards. In the past, we had these units in two smaller 4u and 8u portable racks. The mixer was separate. We upgraded the mixer and needed another 3u of rack space. We ordered this Sound Town 12U PA DJ Rack and moved everything in to this new unit. It's has wood panels framed with aluminum for sturdiness. The covers have the snap, twist lock fastners and tongue and groove coupling to hold them in position. I had to install the wheels (easier to ship with them off) but all the hardware was with the unit including enough rack screws for the equipment. It's heavy, but rolls very easily. Our first gig next year will be the test. ... show more

UPDATE (05-16-2020): SoundTown offered me a complete refund (not normal) for the damages listed below. I do appreciate their efforts in resolving the issue. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Couple of things with this case: (1) Exterior was dented a bit, I can only assume from S/H but none-the-less, for $400, I was hoping to find it shipped in better condition. (2) The side panel with the table legs had several issues: (a) The bracket that holds the leg down has a broken rivet, not easily replaceable here at home whatsoever. (b) The way they try to secure the table legs down when not in use is with Velcro held down by three staples that were pulled out of the wood upon arrival. (c) A hinge that connects the table top to the rest of the case was bent upon arrival. (3) The slant top is suppose to ratchet up and down (actually a clever design that I would be impressed with), HOWEVER the racketing part on the right is broken and so it doesn't hold weight (imagine the implications) and I have no clue how you would repair that other than a new part. So overall, not impressed with this product more because of the price. Had I just paid $100, I might understand a little more, but $400 demands a certain level of quality that I just didn't feel was here. So I'd say use your discretion when purchasing this, if it comes without damages it makes a good case. ... show more
