Our units without a CD mechanism are ideal for listening to digital media files from SD Cards, USB drives, and external devices such as smartphones through the auxiliary input. Very good car stereo unit at a great price

I would say the car stereo’s interface needs some more work although very nice. The screen display or screen navigation is still much better than my old stereo system that came stock with the 2010 Honda CRV. It’s so hard to complain about his from what I had from before. I think that it just one se things that when you have an iPhone, you expect a lot when using a touch screen. I would not have had time to go to each manufacturer’s car stereo and so this user interface is really good enough for most people.. I don’t think any of these car stereo devices work as well as the latest units that come built into a newer model car like 2018 model and newer. It’s a very nice car stereo that has uses a lightning cable plug for CarPlay which is traditional for most aftermarket car stereo system. I would say that the new cars have a very nice system interface. This car stereo has great value for the money paid. I would highly suggest for a professional to install this car stereo with backup camera for you since many people are not too familiar with installation of the back up camera. You will need for the right wiring adapter and plastic mounts for your car. This is probably a project that you only do a few times to your cars and so it’s not worth your energy or time to learn to do it yourself. If you install the car stereo only, it could be very possible for someone handy to do this. I would just focus and learn how to do speaker installation instead of car stereo with backup camera. Make sure you purchase the recommend electronic control unit that allows your steering wheel to have the ability to control the menu choices on this car stereo. Without the car steering wheel controller for your stereo, the buttons on your car steering wheel are rendered useless. It’s good to have controls on your car or work. The controller costs around $75 and retail stores could charge you $125 or more for the unit itself. No value in this deck

I’m a 45 year old mechanic that has been into car audio since I was 16. I’ve never had to install a deck twice to get it to work. This little unit was a bargain at 180, but that’s where the fun stopped. After spending an hour and a half soldering and shrink wrapping all the connections I plugged it in and it was dead. I removed it from the vehicle. I tested the adapter harness and it was fine, tested the deck on a bench and it wouldn’t power up. I reinstalled the factory unit and contacted Amazon. Amazon was good about it and got a replacement out to me about 3 days after I called. The second unit was an older revision with much shorter usb cables. I Installed it and it worked. Apron further inspection I realized the first unit may have been opened prior due to some missing packaging. The installed unit is very slow when switching menus and froze once already while trying to program the radio. That was in less than 15 minutes of use. So considering I had to tear my dash apart 3 times, wire it twice and wait a few days to get an older revision I don’t find very much value in this purchase. The money I saved wasted my time which is much more valuable to me. In the future I will stick with Kenwood or alpine. Maybe even Sony or pioneer. They’ve never left me wishing I’d spent a little extra money and saved myself a hassle. ... show more

This is an update, I bought radio around 9 months ago installed in my 09 silverado with 2 8in subs, i like how you can eq 10 settings. Just connected car play rn since i forgot to 9 months ago but seems to be working great, screen is quick to response, haven’t hooked up camera but I’m sure it’ll be alright too so for the price you can’t beat it imo. Ig their is one con that the bluetooth signal sometimes doesn’t connect to your phone so you have to restart the radio with the little hole with the + - volume but otherwise haven’t found anything else bad ... show more

I’ll happily change this review if someone from SSL can get the rear camera to work reliably. We have used this radio for about 2 years but all of a sudden the rear camera started randomly saying “no backup camera” when for years it had been working fine. Sometimes the camera works (it’s a pretty dark image) and sometimes it shows “camera disconnected”. We double checked the wiring and it looks like it’s a hardware or software issue. Anyone from SSL able to share an installable update VIA SD card? Would love to give a better review. ... show more
