I’ve noticed that some reviews mention this fishing pole breaking on the first use, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. This is the 4th one I’ve purchased, and the first three are still going strong, even after being used by young fishermen who can be pretty rough on their gear. We’ve been using these poles for over two years now, and they’ve held up well. The pole is sturdy for its size, but I wouldn’t recommend it for super large fish—anything over 10-15 pounds might be pushing its limit. However, for the trout and bass fishing we do, it’s been a great choice. The rod is lightweight, portable, and easily fits in a car or backpack, making it convenient for traveling to our favorite fishing spots. As long as you take care of it and avoid targeting oversized fish, this pole is a solid option for recreational fishing.

*edit/update* Customer service reached out and asked how they could make it right. They are sending a replacement fishing pole since the one I originally received wasn’t functional. No news is good news and means the new one didn’t break apart. This pole snapped in half after a snag on a lily pad after less than two months of use. I’m not sure how a lily pad or my 6lb fishing line were built more durably than this pole, but I’m out $70 because of it. Incredibly disappointed by the quality of this pole. Do not buy, look elsewhere.

We take this pole on boat trips where we may or may not decide to fish. Along with a couple lures and some artificial worms. So far we have caught blue fish (which are fighters) a sea robin and a croaker. I wouldn’t try to real in a giant tuna or anything but, this is exactly what you expect it to be. Definitely a great value.

Bought two of these poles for my grandchildren for Christmas. The whole idea was that they were transportable and came with a very nice carrying case. We could use them whenever and wherever. Well they came to visit us at shore this past summer and they brought their poles and we put them together. I was very pleased with the assembly process and the quality of the reel. Well it turned out to be a very windy week and we never were able to go fishing over by the bay. Well now the problem…..we cannot take the poles apart no matter how hard we try and other family members have even tried. We tried so hard that we broke one of the eyes and still no luck. Both rods were impossible to break down. We tried every idea on the internet including Sougayilangs suggestion which was also on the internet. I suppose other people have had the same problem with their poles. Nothing but nothing will break these poles down. The worst part of this whole deal is the company that supposed to have such great customer service has never ever returned one of my emails and there have been several and a phone number is impossible to find. I might add that these poles have never even touched water they are new never used. If you are thinking about purchasing fishing poles I would think twice about buying Sougayilang. There is no customer service regardless of what they say. I am one very very disappointed customer.

The bottom real seat (the part that screws up to hold the real on) tends to loosen up a little bit. But that is all I could find a little bit annoying. Other than that, it's GREAT! :) I already had one from another seller and switched to this one for my main rod.
