Everytime your finger moves while holding the mic on the handle part of the mic it picks up the noise and you hear it through the speakers. They feel & look like quality mics, but the mic body shouldn't pick up your heartbeat. No better than a $10 mic.

Quality is ok. Passes for something casual or if you need to have 2 mics for an event using only 1 input - this is very useful. I have used these for panelists and there is no issue with delay or sound fall out. If you are hardcore into karaoke, you may want to pass on these and look for something a bit more solid.

Sony makes some great microphones. They also make some fairly unimpressive ones as well. The consumer grade mics are just OK, and the professional studio microphones are pretty darned amazing. So what did SONY decide to build here? Are these Professional grade mics, or are they consumer level products? Looking at the build quality, they are more reminiscent of professional level than consumer grade, and thats a good thing. These mics are attractive, and quite hefty... really mechanically sound, even though the microphone body is actually made of a fairly high grade composite plastic. That's OK, though, because good plastic is quite often better than cheap metal... and if you're not paying attention you would believe these are made of metal. So the microphones themselves APPEAR to be professional grade, but the construction is pure consumer level. Moving on to the receiver: Consumer grade from the word go... two mics go in, one signal comes out. There's some kind of automixing going on in there that will try to balance the two inputs. That's not a professional feature. So how do they sound? Well... they sound great... that's how they sound. In general, I hate using things that I have to remember to charge in a professional setting, because there's only so many things I can be charging between shows... It's bad enough that I have iPads, MacBooks and Tablets to keep track of... I don't want to have to remember to recharge wireless mics as well, so these will NEVER make their way into rotation for use ON STAGE. I need replaceable batteries in that application. Leave nothing to chance. Where I AM going to try using these mics is in the service of being TALK BACK mics... the 1/4" is PERFECT for use in an AUX input so I don't have to burn a Mic input on my console for a TB microphone... and since there are TWO SONYS in this kit, if one dies, I'll just grab the other and it all stays on the same input. The bottom line is these are nice microphones... great for party mics, karaoke, etc. They are not Professional level gear, and in all fairness, Sony has never said they are. They sound quite good, and at a party you can have a lot of fun with these. I'll let you all know if they don't work out as TB mics. I think they'll be great for that application.

The Ult Tower 9 performs so well but the Ult mics did not impress me. It’s lightweight, battery lasted for a long time. I think $100 for these two mics is an okay deal, but they are only good for podcasting. For karaoke, i recommend the Shure ones.

Everyone sells wireless microphone kits on amazon. Sony made a solid effort with the ULT MIC set. These are a bit high priced against such a crowded space but the features may not disappoint. The mics are quiet for sure compared to others. You’ll have to crank the gain to get a reasonable presence and volume. The auto level feature works okay for keeping the pair of mics at a similar output volume. The single button feature makes me think that it’s always connected and seems like a mute button. But with the battery life it may really reconnect instantly when turned on. Non roll grill band keeps them from rolling off the table. Good construction and easy to handle. Good battery life.I wish it came with a case for the price point. Very very simple plug and play device for clear karaoke.

Very low volume compared to JBL wireless microphones. Not a good product, returned them. I ran them through a Samsung MX-ST90 with the JBL mics in the other mic input and the JBL was significantly louder.

I really like these microphones for our backyard parties. The sound is very good through our backyard speakers. The Bluetooth connection is easy to connect. The weight of the microphone in your hand feels professional. Please note, I am not a professional using them on stage. When fully charged they last through the whole afternoon/evening.
