Well, I wish the lens was lighter, but I think it is comparable to other lenses of this type. It really pulls in the light, so the lion at the SF zoo showed up very clearly, even though it was in the shadow of a small cave.

This lens is one of the reasons to buy into the Sony e-Mount system! This is the perfect zoom range for telephoto to super telephoto range. Wonderfully designed with an internal zoom. I really like the design decision. This lens is pretty sharp and practical for a reasonable sized zoom of this range. It’s also compatible with Sony’s tele converters. I am looking forward to purchasing a tele converter in the future to extend the range of this lens. Highly recommended! ... show more

This is a great lens but, IMO it's over rated. I bought this lens thinking that I would get faster better focus than what I had with the Sigma 150-600 but I was wrong. I has advantages and disadvantages over the competition. Excellent lens overall.
