I had this product for a few weeks. From the beginning, the zoom ring felt a little stiff, but I did not think much of it because the lens seemed to be working. Two nights ago, I tested everything and it appeared fine. Last night, while packing for a wedding I am supposed to film, the lens suddenly became unusable. The camera no longer recognized the f-stop properly, and both manual focus and autofocus stopped working. I checked my camera settings, tested another lens, and went through troubleshooting, but the issue was clearly with this lens. No damage to contacts, nothing dirty, no damage to lens. Amazon’s best solution was to send a replacement that will not arrive until Monday of the following week, which does not help for a wedding I have to film tomorrow. I am now trying to find a replacement lens locally on short notice. Very disappointing experience, especially for a renewed professional lens. Just buy a new one. ... show more

I am writing this partially for the customer service I received. I got this lens and the quality is amazing. It was as-new. Having said that, after much deliberation I decided that for my specific use I preferred the Sigma 24-70 art lens which has similar capabilities but has a substantially lower min. focus distance when at the 24 end. Anybody who says anything bad about this lens either had a bad copy or is just trolling. It’s perfect and appropriate for nearly all situations. Not great in lowlight, but not bad wide open in lowlight. It was too bulky for me to use as a street photography lens. It telescopes so that makes it worse.
