  • Noticeable ride improvement - good bang for buck upgrade
The media could not be loaded. A Video is worth a thousand words......... I replaced all 4 on a 2005 Excursion 4X4, this review is my experience on that application. The main selling point for me on these shocks is the adjustability. I was springing for new shocks and I didn't want to invest a bunch of money for a ride that I didn't completely like. These shocks are infinitely adjustable, on the Excursion you can make it ride like a truck or ride like a cadillac. Also, I occasionally do heavy tows. This shock allows you to stiffen the rear, so that trailers are more stable and then soften the rear so your 3rd row seat passengers don't hit the ceiling when going over bumps. Pros Adjustable Better Damping than Stock Poly Bushings Noticeable ride improvement Cons Appearance - Bright Silver and Red - Loud if you're going for a stealth look Adjustment knob is hard to turn ... show more

  • Perfect fit
These are by far the best shocks i have ever used on my truck. They ride good on highway ,gravel roads and when pulling a heavy load. I am completely satisfied.

  • Easy to replace
I ordered front (RS999267) and rear (RS999273) shocks for my 2004 diesel F250 4x4. I started with the front mostly due to feedback from the reviews. Easy to replace, took 30 minutes per side mostly due to removing the tire. Then the back... which were super easy... 15 minutes per side, no need to remove tires or spare. I did use a board and floor jack to lift the frame up 4-5 inches to make it easy... don't lift tires from ground, as you lift under hitch it raises the frame nicely and gives you plenty of room to work. One shock opened was an apparent return, it was missing paperwork and a tie wrap. Not a big deal however shock 4 as i was putting it on was was to be bad. I had to remove the end i had already put on, put an old shock back on the truck, and contact the company for replacement. That took 5 days to receive and me contacting the company several times to get the bad one returned as they fouled up the paperwork twice. Finally everything done only for them to look cheap and crappy with a tie wrap on each shock to hold the rubber boot on. The red rubber boot is slit on two sides on the bottom to fit around the shock and a black tie wrap is placed around it to hold it in place. Very visible and looks CHEAP! Not very professional and takes away the happy proud feeling i have when looking at my truck. ... show more

  • Great Shocks
Great shocks for my 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0 4x4. Couple with F250 front leaf springs, the ride is much better than stock. I look forward to towing and being able to adjust to a higher setting.

  • I am not happy with the quality of Rancho shocks these days
I have been having suspension issues for over a year, after replacing almost my whole front end I finally took off these shocks and checked them, both are soft and failing already after only 18,000 miles, most of which were highway and some light back country roads. I am not happy with the quality of Rancho shocks these days. Going with Bilsteins! ... show more

  • So far so good.
I bought these front and rear for my 2005 Excursion that I also added F350 springs to front and rear. I love the adjustability of these. When empty I have a harder time telling the difference, but on the first heavy tow I hooked up went a few miles down the road and remembered I had these shocks still set on 5... I pulled over and maxed the rears to 9 and instantly the ride with heavy tongue weight was so much better. I just hope they last. ... show more
