  • Awesome TV
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
Replaced Highsense TV with this Sony. Sony may be a little more expensive than other brands, but it is well worth it. Outperforms Highsense by 1000%.

  • Decent price and quality for a large tv
Size: 75 Style: TV Only
Exactly what we were hoping for and for a fairly reasonable price! Clear picture, decent enough sound for a smallish room, we’re very pleased.

  • Sony 65” Bravia 2 II with mostly positive features
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
Getting a new television, especially one that’s a brand that’s not one you’ve previously owned, is a mixed bag. Usually a newer tech item will have some impressive features but also a learning curve. So I waited to review this television until I had used it for long enough that the novelty had worn off and the learning challenges were mostly mastered. The setup was not difficult but did, of course, take some time. If you can take advantage of free setup I highly recommend it as it definitely takes two people to do the physical part safely. There are good directions in the top of the box. The technical setup can be quite fast if you don’t read what you need to agree to in the different areas. I don’t automatically agree to everything with new tech, so that part was time-consuming. One frustration for me was that while quite a few streaming services were pre-installed and could be readily accessed, certain major ones were not. In order to install them I had to agree to Google TV, which I didn’t want to do. It does work smoothly and hasn’t been annoying so far. The directions weren’t bad, but I found it easier to learn a lot of the functions through trial and error. There are a few positives I’d like to share. The first is that a lot of things are much easier to work with than I expected. For example, downloading and setting up remote control from my phone was simple, and while I’ll mainly use the regular remote I like having a backup. I’m still becoming accustomed to the remote. I like its light weight, but its buttons seem rather cramped and are not all in locations that I would have placed them in. A backlight would have been helpful so I don’t have to turn on a light to be sure I’m pushing the right button. The sound is much better than I expected. I was prepared to buy a soundbar but am finding the regular sound to be more than adequate. I don’t play a lot of video games and don’t need the bass to rattle my teeth during movies, but those who do may still want one. I’m happy that it picks up channels from my antenna very well so far. And lastly, it's a little thing in the big picture (pun intended), but I really enjoy the beautiful screensaver photos that come on when it’s paused for a while. I've attached photos of two examples. ... show more

  • Awesome TV!
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
It has been many years since I have owned a Sony TV, or any Sony product for that matter. My prior experience with them was always top-notch. I’m sure increased competition and lowering acceptable quality/price point has something to do with it, but I recall Sony being a brand above others. The overall experience is Great. Picture quality is awesome, . The backlight is bright on Vibrant mode, my only knock would be that the color definition is lacking compared to Samsung, but at the price-point compared to Samsung, it’s worth the difference. Viewing angle is pretty typical for this size TV, so no complaints there. Google's operating system is not the best, it’s response on this TV is slow compared to Roku, but it’s adequate. Most Apps load in an acceptable amount of time, such as Youtube TV, but the general navigation is slower than I’d like. Also, the remote control is very responsive and easy to use. The picture & sound quality are great, what I’d expect for a 65 Inch TV that operates at 60 Hz. There are many good features for adjusting both picture and sound, so you can make the picture and sound what you want. Overall, love this TV and would definitely recommend at this price point. ... show more

  • Average quality TV with sub-par sound
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
I honestly expected more from Sony. It has been many years since I have owned a Sony TV, or any Sony product for that matter. My prior experience with them was always top-notch. Not sure what has happened to the brand today. While I cannot find anything actually wrong with the TV, the overall experience is just average. Picture quality is "okay"... not great but certainly not the worst I have ever seen. Backlight is pretty bright on Vibrant mode. However, even on Vibrant, color definition is still lacking. Viewing angle is good, one of the more positive aspects of the TV. The first thing I did was turn off the "smooth motion" processing. It resulted in too many odd artifacts and choppy fast-action motion sequences. Google's operating system is not the best but is adequate. Some apps are pretty choppy - Pluto for instance takes forever to settle down and become usable. Youtube functions quite smoothly though. Remote control is very responsive and easy to use. Buttons are a bit small but give a nice tactile feedback. A TV's tuner these days seems more like an afterthought on most models but it is nice there is a dedicated button on the remote that takes you to broadcast channels, once you hook up an antenna. Does a really good job tuning in frequencies. The main reason this TV gets a 3 star rating would have to be the sound. That is the most disappointing aspect. No other way to put it... the speakers are horrible. Even after adjusting the graphic equalizer, there is practically zero bass that comes out of them. Actually, they are pretty hard to listen to and give me a headache. So, add to the purchase price of this TV an extra couple hundred bucks for a sound bar with a subwoofer. ... show more

  • Excellent Picture, Works Great
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
I have never had a Sony TV and I have been impressed with the picture on the BRAVIA 2. I am using this tv on an inclosed patio and the picture and sound are perfect for my space. I do not use the gaming feature so I can not review that feature and I setup the tv to use hdmi port 1 on start up where I have a ultra 4k fire stick installed so I do not use google tv. All in all this is a large tv with an excellent picture that works great. The one thing I do not like is the thickness of the tv, it is larger than any other tv I have and when wall mounting it adds inches out from the wall. ... show more
