I bought this portable DVD and Blu-ray player on May 5th to watch all the movies and TV shows I’ve collected over the years from yard sales and cheap Amazon deals. I’ve been using it for about a week now and so far, I have no complaints. The screen quality is really good, and it came with a protective peel-off film from the company. The buttons are located on the right side inside the player and include Volume -, Volume +, Play/Pause, Mode/Media, Setup, and Mute. There’s also a circular navigation button with a center "OK/Select" button. One larger button opens the DVD reader. Side note: I wouldn’t recommend letting small children open the disc tray. It's fully exposed, including the sliding mechanism, and curious hands might tug or mess with it. There are several ports on the side of the player: Power switch (On/Off) Earphone jack SPDIF AV IN Micro SD USB HDMI Out LAN DC In (12V) The speakers are built into the side of the handle, and the sound quality is surprisingly good. The player feels sturdy and well-made—nothing creaks or feels loose. What’s in the box: Portable DVD/Blu-ray player User manual Car charger Wall charger (with swappable plugs: UL, EU, and UK) AV cable Remote control (batteries not included, needs 2 AAA) I tested the HDMI Out port (note: HDMI cable not included) by connecting the player to both an older TV from 2007 and a newer smart TV from 2015. Both worked perfectly, with video and sound transmitting through the HDMI cable alone—no extra setup or audio cables needed. Overall, this is a great portable DVD/Blu-ray player. We've had our Fangor for years, lasted longer than any other brand we have had (RCA, Panasonic). Runs quietly and reliably, the handy remote works OK but alignment to the sensor must be right on the money and its not immediately clear where one must point it! Best function is to aim straight on and level with the player. It does have a good sound range and the picture quality is great. It is bright enough for us to watch during the day and is adjustable brightness and sound volume using the remote. Love the Repeat - all option as well. ... show more

Absolutely love this Blu-ray player. It was a birthday Christmas gift for my parents and I absolutely love it. I haven’t stopped using it since it came in screen size is amazing.     • Screen Needs Improvement
First with the cons: -I feel that the screen could've been better, for me its a little too bright and it hurts my eyes, Sound starts to crackle around 5. -When lowering the brightness and contrast it starts to make the display close to black you can't see anything and it's over saturated even though saturation is at 0 -charger is an AC Adapter you will need to replace those very often -No advance picture settings (Sharpness, warm Color etc, No Bluetooth) The arrow buttons dont work when playing blu-ray discs you need to use the remote - Loud clicks when pressing buttons can't use at night Positives: -Awesome to take/travel, camp etc. if your old school about discs then this is it worth the money because with streaming you need internet, buffering, slow etc. Due to extreme brightness this is good for day use -Quality is crisp -It is suprisingly quiet, sure you hear then fan but it's not bothersome *For those easily gets migraines due to bright light like myself be careful and watch from a distance even though its a small screen it's really bright ... show more

Whoever says you'll need a portable speaker, didn't have this one. I'm using this outside at work and it's surround sound somehow and it's not even turned all the way up. I play it at a 14-15 volume and I feel that's too loud😅 but hey. It plays discs from all regions, so I could watch this Star Wars show from Japan🤔oooOoo🕵🏾 A tiny screw on the screen did come out, but all you gotta do is screw it back in. ... show more

Reviews are right, the remote is a pain to use. The control layout has no logic to it and it's not intuitive compared to any other remote you will have used since the invention of remote controls. I discovered last night that the BluRay menus are non-navigable without the remote, even thought the player appears to have an up down left right arrow pad on the device itself. This means the remote is required, and if you ever lose it, or it breaks, you're SOL. The screen viewing angles, as far as brightness goes is the worst I've ever seen. Anything you watch will have a vignette effect as you will see A LOT of LED backlight at the top and bottom of the screen. The picture rather pixelated. You have to actually stop the video playback completely in order to change the brightness and contrast, which makes adjusting those things rather difficult to do. On the other hand, I tried it out as a CD player to listed to old CDs, and it doubles pretty well as a portable CD player. It's rather loud. It might be a better DC player than it is a video device. ***** edit, I've downgraded from two star to one star. I bought a NAVISKAUTO Blu Ray player, and it really puts the FANGOR player to shame, for nearly the same price. It's apparent that they use similar operating software, as the menus look the same, but the NAVISKAUTO has two huge upsides, 1) you don't need the remote control for any reason. You can lose it and not be stuck with a useless plastic object. 2) the screen quality in the NAVISKAUTO is amazingly good. The resolution of this player is not 1080p as advertised, but the NAVISKAUTO's screen certainly is. It looks 500% better. I think the FANGOR should be priced closer to ~$120 considering these differences. Definitely get the NAVISKAUTO. ... show more
