I bought this camera on the assumption that it was "refurbished" but it came DEFECTIVE!! the ISO and aperture doesn't work! and the viewfinder sensor doesn't work either! the battery life is short and dies fast, and the battery door is missing a metal piece that allows it to charge, so I couldn't charge the camera and had to buy new batteries and a separate battery charger, which didnt matter because the camera ate the battery up fast. I took it to a camera store near me to see if maybe I was the problem. but they said it themselves this camera was likely not even fixed before it was resold! THIS IS A SCAM!! I had a photoshoot the day after it arrived and was planning on using it but it had completely ruined the shoot I had to resort to an older camera of my. for the inconvenience this has cause the seller did NOTHING TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSSES!! ... show more

Interesting camera. I have had a Canon T4i for years and decided to update to this Sony Alpha A7ii. It's not a bad upgrade, but I am left wondering if a Canon T7 or 8 might have been better. The obvious difference is the mirrorless Sony. I have discovered that if there is ANY bit of dust or dirt on the lense, it will absolutely show in the photo. I never noticed that with the Canon. Other than that, two things- 1) the battery. This camera charges on a proprietary cable while the battery is IN the camera. Horribly designed feature. Luckily, the battery is common and you can buy extra batteries and an external charing port. 2) The settings are not very intuitive to locate or change. ISO, shutter speed, aperture ... they are there, but not in very obvious places compared to Canon. It might just take a bit to get used to, but I'm optimistic. The auto mode works well enough. Colors indoors are not as vibrant as in sunlight. ... show more

I realize that this is a "Renewed" Camera, and not brand new. Being a high-end camera, you would think that it was expertly inspected and cleaned, especially in the most critical areas such as the Mirrorless Camera Sensor and the Lenses. With 50 years of experience with photography and cameras, I carefully inspected this camera with magnifying glasses and was very disappointed to discover a sizable smudge on the most important inspection point, the SENSOR. I carefully cleaned the sensor and hope that there is no unseen damage. I don't think I will ever take a chance on buying RENEWED cameras in the future. ... show more
