The updated Fast Hybrid AF System combines 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection areas for faster focus in different lighting conditions, and it also maintains focus on subjects more efficiently. The camera’s video recording capabilities have been expanded to improve UHD 4K video quality, using the full width of the full-frame sensor to reduce moir and aliasing. The a7 III also features a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE sensor-shift image stabilization, now effective in reducing camera shake by up to 5 stops, benefiting both stills and video operation.
