These things are hit or miss, I have 1 that works great. I have 2 others that never seem to charge even though they get direct sunlight for a good portion of the day. Very frustrating having to climb a ladder to get to them to change batteries all the time. The cameras and the solar charger look nice, they all work great but the batteries that shipped with them are NOT rechargeable. Pretty useless to have the solar charger hooked up to regular batteries. Also when you try to block out section that you do not want to trigger motion detection in doesn’t seem to work very well. I had to set that area to private just so my flag wouldn’t trigger the motion alarm all night. Overall the cameras look and work well just wish it wouldn’t kill the batteries so fast, the whole reason I got the solar charger was not to have to get on ladder so often. Sync module goes offline a lot, it is 10 feet from my WiFi router with nothing in between. I have also moved it to within 2 feet of my WiFi. Please help remedy this for me. UPDATE; They sent me new batteries and everything is working flawlessly. Thank you. ... show more

The solar charger does not work. The camera is shipped with nonrechargeable batteries. You find that out after the camera kills the regular Lithium batteries. The solar mount plugs in to the back of the camera through a small hole. The rubber seal on the wire makes it nearly impossible to connect the plug to the camera without damaging the USB c plug or the port in the camera. I have 4 cameras and this is the only solar powered one I bought. I was looking to extend the battery life to as long as possible. But the solar charger ruined the batteries. When I took the ca.er a down to check the batteries is when I noticed they sent regular batteries instead of rechargeable. I bought the proper rechargeable batteries with I believe 1.5watts of power as required. The camera refused to charge and the batteries lasted a few weeks. I took those batteries out and put in another set of fully charged rechargeable batteries and had the same thing happen a few weeks later. Meanwhile all my regular battery powered cameras are doing fine. Other people had similar issues with the solar mount and I should have heeded what they said. Amazon is restricting reviews on this camera mount because they know it's junk and they don't want bad reviews to affect sales. I was in contact with customer support several times and they gave advice on troubleshooting but tje end result of my test is the solar mount is a poor design and it is junk. I requested my money back and all of sudden Amazon is ghosting me. Do not buy the solar mount! ... show more

Love the camera itself, the solar panel hasn’t ever worked. I bought in October, at the end of November I got a notification that the battery level was low. So that’s when I started looking into it because I figured the solar panel was working the whole time. Turns out it has to say “external power” or something instead of “battery life”. It’s never said external power and I can’t get it to no matter where I move the camera. I contacted support and was told “if you have forgotten the device and then added it back and it’s still not working you then need to replace the rechargeable battery” I shouldn’t have to pay to replace the rechargeable battery when it should only be 2 months old. Customer service was no help. UPDATE- after I posted my review complaining about customer service being no help someone else with Blink reach out to send me a replacement. I received the replacement within two days the solar panel now works perfectly. Rating 4 stars instead of 5 because people shouldn’t have to post a bad review to get help. ... show more
