  • Great - Velcro stayed for a 17 h Friesian stallion
Size: 46" to 62"
Wondering if will the Velcro will hold up to some pulling (but not panicking) for a bigger horse learning to stand tied? They do, or at least they did for our 17 h Friesian. Learning to stay tied is a fundamental cornerstone for any horse. Any ‘panic-accident’, if only once might mean you’ll end up with a horse that never stands tied. I own many blocker tie-Rings, these work great for smaller horses and ponies, but not for our 17h Friesian, if excited and not focused on the fact that he is actually tied up. (He will, but learning.) I got these to test, and the Velcro - to my great surprise, did not come off when he pulled forward, so learned to yield (while keeping the other side wrapped around a post, held in my hand. GREAT!!! ⚠️ TIP: On Riding Warehouse’s site, the description states that the quick-release safety buckle should be connected to the halter, not to the post, which usually is the case. “Quick-Release Panic Snap Connects to Halter Solid Brass Trigger Snap Connects to Wall/Post” The pictures on this listing shows the opposite. ... show more

  • Best Cross Ties Ever
Size: 96"
Fantastic. They release just like they should. More than long enough to span extra wide aisles, or can adjust down to standard size as well. Hardware works nicely, adjusts easily but is secure. Very pleased with these, will be purchasing more for the wash rack.

  • A great way to keep horses safe in cross ties
Size: 96"
We use the Tie Safes in our trailer and for our cross ties. We needed an extra long version for our miniature horse as the regular ties were just not quite long enough to reach him. The Velcro and band design keeps the tie tight but will release when horse pressure is applied (the lid of the Dumpster slamming unexpectedly in the wind is a great test!) We love that the horses can stay safe, and when they do get loose, they don't have a metal piece swinging and we can grab the tail of the tie to catch them. ... show more

  • Nice, but note that they DO NOT come in pairs
Size: 46" to 62"
These crossties are easily adjustable and I like that they incorporate a safety feature beyond just the usual quick-release clasps. They hold my horses in place perfectly, but also give me peace of mind knowing that if someone truly panics, they’ll come apart. Just note that they don’t come in pairs - you have to buy two! ... show more

  • Liked the first set so much I bought seven more sets.
Size: 46" to 62"
I bought my first pair for my wash stall, around 4 years ago, after building a new barn. I was so pleased with that pair that I have since bought 7 more pairs. No more chain, double ended snaps and baling twine. I cannot comment on the safety factor since I’ve yet to have a horse panic and try to escape. I did also buy sets of the trailer version of these cross ties after I forgot to unsnap a horse when unloading, and she escaped by breaking the leather crown piece of her safety halter. Another lesson learned. Every place I have mounted these XL cross ties is 11ft 6 inches side to side, and they are the perfect length for that spacing. The price has increased by 25% since my first set, but they are still worth the current cost to me. ... show more

  • Velcro break away??
Size: 96"
I have owned a couple sets of this brand of crossties but this time they must not be made like my first pair.. I like them for the velcro break away feature but it failed because of a cheaply made snap. I bought these only 3 months ago, probably got 2 months of use out of them.

  • Very nice ties!
Size: 96"
Works with the mini and works with the big mare. And the farrier liked them. Love the no rust brass hardware!

  • 10ft Wide minimum width for Extra Long length
Size: 96"
These are made for super wide barn isles. Before I bought the “extra long” ones, I thought maybe I should wait for the “standard” to be in stock again. I ended up letting my patience gets the best of me, and I purchased the extra long. I have them all the way tightened up, and they are a perfect fit. Any longer and my horses would have too much play in the length. My barn opening where the crossties goes is a little less than 10ft. So, with about 4 inches between the clips being able to touch, I would say the shortest the “extra long” will tighten up to, would be 4’9”. Give or take a few. Haha! I did some backwards math on that.... ... show more
