  • Advanced Full-Frame Performance in a Compact Package
Color: Black
The Sony Alpha 7CR Full-Frame Interchangeable Lens Hybrid Camera stands out as an exceptional piece of equipment for both professional photographers and advanced enthusiasts. This camera combines cutting-edge technology with a compact design, delivering impressive performance across various shooting scenarios. I recently took the Sony Alpha 7CR on a weekend trip to photograph a local sports event and explore a scenic nature trail. The camera's compact design made it easy to carry around all day without feeling bulky or cumbersome. During the sports event, the fast burst shooting capability (10 fps) was incredibly useful for capturing the action. I was able to photograph athletes in mid-motion, and the autofocus system locked onto the subjects quickly and accurately. The Real-Time Eye autofocus was particularly impressive, ensuring sharp, focused shots of the players’ faces even as they moved rapidly. In the nature trail, I used the 5-axis image stabilization to take handheld shots of landscapes and wildlife. Despite walking and occasionally shooting at slower shutter speeds, the images were clear and free from blur. The camera’s low-light performance was notable, allowing me to capture vibrant sunset shots with minimal noise. For video, I recorded some 4K footage of the scenic vistas. The video quality was superb, with excellent detail and smooth motion. The ability to use S-Log3 for color grading provided flexibility in post-production, giving the footage a professional look. Overall, the Sony Alpha 7CR exceeded my expectations with its balance of high-performance features and portability. It’s a fantastic choice for those who need a reliable, compact full-frame camera that performs well in both still photography and video. Highly recommended for its versatility and exceptional image quality. ... show more

  • Wonderful
Color: Black
Wonderful. Amazing. I love (yes love) this camera more than any other digital camera I have ever owned. It packs the 61mp sensor from the A7RV (and the A7RIV) in a small rangefinder style body. It’s comfortable to hold, better equipped with buttons and dials that the first version of the A7C yet can still pass off as a ‘tourists compact camera’ when out and about. Walk into a museum or other public place in some parts of the world with a full frame camera and you might get searched or asked to show a photography permit. Walk in with this and no one notices it. Yet it can take images that equal the A7RV. I enjoy using it and love the images I create with it. It’s a beautiful camera, and I truly am in love with it. ... show more

  • A beast in a small package
Color: Black
I am a long time Leica guy, I just enjoy a rangefinder style film camera. I considered the Leica Q but it was fixed lens and expensive. So I waited for Sony to make this camera as i already have several lenses. They did not disappoint. I primarily use the 50 2.5 and 24 2.8 both are sharp and small. The results are outstanding. I would compare the photos with the best medium format film images. Ease of use has improved over previous Sony models but is still crazy complicated. The new menu and touch screen controls are a huge improvement but will take time to learn. The viewfinder although smaller than on my a73 is bright and satisfactory. The screen folds out and works well. I would have liked to have the in camera panorama and the outstanding rich tone B&W like my RX 100m7 but alas Sony failed to deliver. The animal and human autofocus options work well. With 60 mp to burn the clear image zoom really shines. My 50 becomes a 50 - 100 and I can’t see any loss likewise the 24 becomes a 24 -50. This combo makes for a very lightweight two lens 24 - 100 f2.8 kit of outstanding performance. Sony has an updated software update already and just like my previous cameras it is very difficult to install. It’s almost better to buy a new camera rather than try to get it work. The typical thing happens it will refuse to work but will not tell you what is wrong. If they would just write a few more words of code and tell you what to do to make it work instead you will have to refer to the online instructions. I just spent the morning in total frustration. So be aware if you want the latest version plan to spend some serious time to get it to work. UPDATE I’ve now used this excellent camera for a month and a half. It only gets better. My travel kit has a challenger the 16-35 f4 power zoom. The combo of it and my 50 2.5 make an amazing kit. But alas it is a bit larger. The images are spectacular. If you must have a faster lens the 55 f1.8 takes this kit to professional stardom. My settings are custom button 1 clear view zoom button 2 exposure comp and the top wheel ISO Set up functions if you want something else handy. Pro the best possible camera for the size made today the images are spectacular Con the viewfinder could be larger. The software can be a real challenge. Instead of just saying it won’t work why doesn’t Sony write a few more lines to tell you what is wrong and maybe even how to fix it. The menu is much improved but is still extremely complex and confusing. I would love to work with the people who program this thing to make it easier to use. I still hope to someday get it setup how I want. Rich tone B&W please Sony 😊 ... show more

  • Lack luster Amazon // Amazing camera
Color: Silver
I’d love to have only written a review about this camera. But before I leave that in here, I wanted to leave a warning about Amazon resale items. I am on my 3rd purchase now and they have almost blatantly scammed me. 1st was stolen, so I can’t fault Amazon. But of my other two purchased from their Amazon resale, they have either been the wrong color or the entirely wrong camera. I’m not sure what QC looks like for them but if my refunds don’t process, use me as a case study/cautionary tale of trying to save a few bucks with Amazon uses goods. To the camera now. Bliss. My first “pro” level camera and it blends the right amount of everything for me. With the 61MP sensor, I’ve taken to keeping a small footprint with my lens, using aps-c lens frequently. The camera handles both my photo/video work easily without there being too much compromise. If you’re a video maker first, please look elsewhere. But, if you like a solid hybrid shooter that emphasizes versatility with photo work, this is your camera. Note: for those with bigger hands though, realize you will need to get accessories to adjust the feeling/grip to make this camera feel comfortable. ... show more
