Description

Sony’s first 16-55 mm (24-82.5 mm full-frame equiv.) APS-C zoom with a constant F2.8 aperture is remarkably compact while offering performance befitting the G lens series. A new optical design delivers excellent corner- to-corner resolution, and beautiful bokeh is available when needed. It is compact, lightweight, and ideal for a wide range of subjects. Sony’s original Nano AR coating adds superior resistance to flare and ghosting for crisp contrast. Precise spherical aberration control and a 9-blade Circular aperture contribute to smooth bokeh. This fine lens is ideal for everything from portraits to everyday snapshots, combining with compact E-mount bodies to form a highly mobile, manageable system for a wide range of photographic applications.

  • Gorgeous lens!
This is a really well built lens, that works for all skill levels. I’m a novice photographer/videographer and this lens does it all. F 2.8 is excellent for those close up focus shots and the color is great

  • Great lens! Just needs OSS stabilization!
I've tried many E-mount lenses, from the Sigma 1.8 zooms to other Sony primes and zooms. This is the one starter lens I recommend for APS-C users that covers most bases. As an APS-C user, you want a small, compact package that's portable so look no further! PROS: -Very compact for a 2.8 lens. Great size for my a6600! Compare to full-frame 2.8 lenses that are nearly double the weight. -Surprisingly close minimum focusing distance of 1 ft at 55mm! (It replaced my Sony 90 macro lens) -Great focal range (replaced my Sigma 16mm, Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 zoom [adapted], 50mm prime) CONS: -No OSS image stabilization. -Focus breathing is visible in videos. -Manual mode requires using the switch instead of instant takeover ... show more
