A great alternative to the much more expensive Dremel tool. My rechargable Dremel battery had given up so I replaced the whole tool with this. It is compatible with all my existing Dremel bits. I used to use a Dremel tool all the time when I was a kid 25-30 years ago And they always cost a fortune back then. I really liked the fact that this came with the flex shaft attachment, and the variety of accessories that came with the tool for the price. I very much like that you’re able to adjust the speed of the motor. I cannot speak to its durability yet as I’ve only used it on a couple of projects, but it has worked very well. The flex shaft makes it very versatile for multiple different jobs. I personally got it for cleaning metal in a hard to reach spot under the hood of my car. It’s accorded Dremel so you don’t have to worry about the battery going dead. The only thing I noticed was the motor labored a little bit if you bent the flex shaft too far. Seems durable enough, and I especially liked the fact that it came with the part number and instructions for replacing the brushes in the motor. ... show more

While trying to tightening down the collet/chuck on the end of the flexible shaft, the inner metal shaft itself sheared loose of the housing of the handle, ripping apart parts of the handle, and is no longer useable. That’s fine, since I didn’t plan on using the flexible shaft much, but it still knocks a star off of the review in my opinion—it broke and is not useable. Otherwise, it’s pretty perfectly comparable to a dremel in size, noise, power and power adjustment, and utility. 9.5/10 ... show more

Fantastic rotary tool. I ordered this after my Dremel died on me and the cost of a comparable replacement was ridiculous. I had heard of WEN in the past when I was looking to buy a new drill press and really only ever heard good things, so I decided to give them a shot. Once in a while I get it right and this was one of those times. This tool is comfortable in the hand, has plenty of adjustable power, fantastic battery life and great bonus features. The added light at the end of the tool is extremely helpful and not overbearing. The unit came with a charge on it and I kept wondering when it was going to stop but it seemed to run for days. Charging was quick and I was buck up and running. The accessory kit provided ample enough attachments to get you going on just about any type of small project. Good grief! How can this be any good at a price of 25$ ??? Amazingly, it is - quite good indeed. Reading the other reviews, I get the feeling that some are trying desperately to find something wrong with this deal. As far as I can tell, it is the equal of moto-tools at three times the price. And it comes with a functional flexible shaft, and several attachments - including a workable router base, and a box of sanding-grinding-cutting-drilling bits, and the much-needed set of collets. And also, a nice organized storage pouch to hold everything together. Wen is a terrific company for decent quality inexpensive tools. Check out their 10" x 40 tooth carbide circular saw blade for $12.36! Amazing - and it works! ... show more

WEN 23190 1.3-Amp Rotary Tool - Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. Ive used other WEN tools and I expect this one to perform as well. Of the top 5 rated rotary tools, depending of which reviewer you read was paid for the rating, this is #3. Of course you know #1, their product price can afford the price of the rating. What I have a beef with, is the carrying case design. It nice and compact but it has several design flaw. First off is the near 190 parts that are bound to end up all scattered atop the work bench; when accessing the lower storage area, which you must do so to withdraw the stored cord, Flex Shaft, or other accessories you may stow in there. You must pop off the upper deck to access the lower storage area...there goes all those parts scattered across the work bench. Then there are the little friction tabs that keep the upper deck attached to the case; how long are they going to stay intact. And finally the two major latches at each case end. Im afraid to lift it off the bench for fear of spilling the entire 190 pieces across the floor. WEN, find a way to put some snap in those end latches; make them secure. The kit arrives with a very thin plastic cover to keep those 100+ various parts in their designated storage spot, during shipping. Dont throw it out with the shipping box. Manufacturer should beef this cover up several X for lifetime use. Every time you need the tool you must snap loose the upper deck; and, risk upsetting the cart. Cant speak to how to remedy the perceived friction tab longevity; but, if there is a way, manufacturer should address it. Then there's the Flex Shaft and cable. To change tools youve got to lock the collet nut and shaft from turning. There's a manner to do this but the "L" tool supplied, ain't it. The hold positions dont line up. No fear though, use a smaller Hex wrench to fit in the misaligned holes. I used a mini-needle nose pliers to do it. Got to give two thumbs up to their instruction booklet editor. Not quite the Robert Bork level of English writing but pleasantly surprising; not the usual Chinglish. If you read such pamphlets its worth the time. In there you'll not find the purpose of indicated part 22 (Polishing Compound) described as to its use. I'm guessing its applied to Felt Polishing wheels or tip; but, why apply paraffin wax to felt. No matter, it is a good read. ... show more
