  • Nice But Not Worth 3 Grand!
Size: 55 in Style: TV Only
This is a $3,000 55in tv and doesn't full live up to that price. 40% of the tv is reclaimed plastic. The packaging is cheap, plain cardboard, which looks like a $100 insignia. Google forces tos or you can't even use the tv offline. Very disrespectful at this price. Any price really. Motion is just bad. Its juddery, jittery, and blurry on 24p-30p. 60p and higher is smooth, but it should be since it has significantly more frames. Sound is nice with deep bass. You basically have a mini soundbar built in. Very nice. The remote has a motion activated backlight. Very ritzy. HDR and SDR are impressive too. The new imax enhanced preset brings out the most in all content. Bravia core is a gimmick to sell a new subscription service. Its not an actual feature. Gaming is nice at 16ms of input lag, but not as good as the cx with 14ms and vrr available immediately! Sony says its vrr will come winter 2021! So you've been lied too about it having vrr! Disappointing for gamers! There also is no XR logo on the back! They lied about that too! Sony is getting too cocky. This product shows what happens when companies stop caring about quality experiences, and favor profits more. Its a nice tv, but not worth 3 grand! See pics. I'd wait for a sale or buy a cx. This is too expensive, and only the most picky cinephile will, just barely be able to justify the price. Look up Quantum TV for more info, but basically good luck. Sony didn't really try this year. They couldn't even be bothered to glue, staple, or tape the top of the box. If you lower your expectations, or come from an old tv you'll be blown away. Otherwise, just wait for the sale. Goodluck. ... show more

  • WOW! What a world of a difference!
Size: 55 in Style: TV Only
Words cannot describe how glad I am with purchasing the Sony A90J TV. This is the first time I have purchased a tv this expensive and I didn't want to buy one that I would regret later on. From the moment I opened the box and set the TV, I have been completely satisfied. The picture quality is phenomenal, the sound quality is fantastic, and the user interface is extremely smooth. 1. Picture: Picture quality is vivid and provides details that were missed or easily looked over when watching on an older tv. As a part of Sony's Master Series, all TVs are professionally calibrated prior to leaving the factory. This prevents the owner from wasting time trying to perfect the image quality. With the use of new computer processing, the TV has the ability to adjust itself according to the lighting atmosphere at the moment it is being viewed. OLED makes a world of difference when viewing content. Whites are whiter and blacks are deeper, without losing the ability to see everything else happening. 2. Sound: The audio produced from this tv has the ability to provide the quality of sound in comparison to a 5.1 sound system. Previously I had a premium 3.1.2 sound bar w/ a subwoofer connected to my older TV and I thought it produced amazing sound. Once I heard the sound quality on this TV, there was no way I could replace it with my sound bar. With the computer programming, it has the capability of monitoring the sound in the room and adjusting it according to where you are sitting. I find myself having to turn down the volume when my kids are sleeping, so they aren't awoken by the action or suspenseful scenes in a movie. 3. User Interface: I have to point first and foremost, the smoothness transition from app to app or when scrolling through different contents is far superb from all other TVs. I find myself hating when I am using my other TVs because of how sluggish they are. When setting up the TV to add all of the apps I have access to, I initially found myself feeling as if it was a little more complex than it truly is. After scrolling through, I was able to navigate effortlessly, without any complications. 4. Casting: I have used Google's Chromecast Dongles in the past and they were always problematic with remaining connected. The casting feature on the TV works without any issues and remains stable throughout its connection. With over 2 weeks of use, I am impressed and happy with the purchase of the Sony A90J 55 Inch TV. I will periodically return and provide an update to the overall use. If you are on the fence about this TV, I recommend researching this TV among others within its class and then make your decision. If you are still interested in this TV, I can say without a doubt you will be satisfied with your purchase. ... show more

  • Fantastic TV
Size: 55 in Style: TV Only
I received the Sony A90J a couple of days ago. The packaging was top notch. I unpackaged the tv and turn it on. The improved Panel brightness makes picture quality the best, bar none, the sound is great, and the design is flawless. I really did not think this Panel would meet my expectations, but it surpassed it. The esthetics alone is pleasing. I was afraid that this Panel would be all hype, but I am thankful that a big purchase like this turned out to be a Jack Pot. As a layman, I'm trying to think of some negatives. Maybe some people prefer more brightness, but I think 700, 800 nits regularly will meet my personal taste. ... show more

  • Unbelievable picture
Size: 65 in Style: TV Only
There are good picture quality TVs, and there’s this. There are high brightness TVs, and then there’s A90J. I’ve never experienced anything like this. The accuracy is scary, the pick brightness is perfect and the overall experience is just next level. I’ve already watched two of my favorite movies (which I’ve watched many many times) and I felt like watching them for the first time. ... show more

  • Perfect Next Gen TV for PS5 and PS6
Size: 55 in Style: TV Only
Came well packaged but should be for the price and safety of a 3k investment. Just like in the headline, I purchased this for my new PS5 and hopefully it will be ready for the the PS6 in ~7 years. It has 2 regular HMDI ports and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. The 2.1 ports were a must have for my 2021 television purchase. Sony makes the best consoles, why not go with their best top tier tv? I had a 2007 HP 1080p tv for the PS3 and PS4 but it was time for an upgrade and I don't believe HP is even in the tv game anymore. If I had to find 1 negative it would be that I was not prepared for the wide stands that the tv comes with. I should have realized it from the pictures that they would be that wide but they are not that aesthetically pleasing and they are much higher up profile (off the ground) than the photos Sony and Amazon show. The stands are very stable though so this tv will not be tipping over if bumped so that is peace of mind I guess. I think I will be buying a mount as this tv deserves it since it's basically a heavy mirror! I just wish the wall mounts for this tv weren't another $400 dollars.. 5/5! Love you Sony! Now get to making more PS5's so I have others to enjoy Next Gen gaming with me! LOL ... show more

  • Disappointed
Size: 65 in Style: TV Only
Disappointed with the quality control of Sony, the 65" has red tint, and really bad grid problems. Other sites are talking about it plagued by the 65" very expensive for this to be accepted.
