As a child I slept on a real down feather mattress. Teen years a typical spring cheap mattress and college slab. In the 80-90's a full motion waterbed. So later in life when I purchased a Very expensive mattress from one of "those" pro stores after several years, I wanted more so I put a 3" topper and loved the softness of sinking in again with a good foundation from the older mattress should I sink that deep. Yet now was missing the texture component for the feel on my arms and legs so got this for the quilting and puff. The outer material is very impressive and attractive. The elastic 1.5" band held my now towering bed in place very well. The skirt was also well tailored and a good material. It all looks good and fits well. So why my review? Well as pictures go the ones seen here show what I could guess as a very orchestrated fluff factor. The fillings are as listed zoned with careful inspection I found there was a difference. My camping experiences with both down and fiber fill sleeping bags have taught me how to get loft and here I was challenged and failed after six hours. Yet let's be realistic as advertised and for the money if you just want a nice cover to hide your mattress or like me some feel quilting directly under the sheets this does work. My last point if you are going to then put layers of a pad, two sheets blanket and or duvet/quilt for those of us in the cooler climates, weighting it all down all day anyway don't expect a pillow top. Still for the price point, coverage appeal and stitching impressions presented in a modest loft not to mention the thought of being able to launder (as instructed); I'm happy with my purchase. I just expected it to be thick and it was less than a regular blanket thick. Let disappointed for the price. The picture has a drink and tissue box to show how small a full size cover came in.

Based on the pictures, we ordered this as a topper that was also a fitted mattress pad. We wanted something in between the two and thought that that was what we are getting. Not really. It is a thin quilted mattress pad like many many others. If that is what you want, this is a good one. It stays in place, etc. But it does not relieve pain we have not found. And we are still searching for that holy grail of the topper/pad that is not too thick that you sink down and yet not too thin that you have to feel the aging mattress in all its (and your) points. ... show more

I ordered this because we share a beach rental house, with communal mattresses, in the summer. I am a bit skeeved out laying on the same mattress several other families use ... so I wanted something to provide a protective barrier and also hopefully add a little padding. I have used a 3 inch thick memory foam topper in the past, which was 1000× more comfortable than this but took up a lot of space. If you are looking for a padded comfortable mattress topper ... you might be disappointed with this. Although it looks a bit quilted and fluffy, when you lay on it, it doesn't feel very cushioned or soft. It does fit the bed fantastic with corners that won't come off ... and as snug as it fits, one person could easily put this on the bed. As a protection against dirt or grime, this makes a solid barrier. While the ad says this has a top and bottom, both sides seem equal to me. Technically, its easy to see what side is top/bottom based on the photos. The material is kind of cheap and synthetic feeling and it is not cooling. If you are looking for padding or cooling, look elsewhere. There is no memory foam ... the filling is a polyester-based filling. For the price of under $40, its a relatively good buy. I would prefer something softer and more comfortable ... like goose down or memory foam. However, those would likely be 2 - 4x the price for a similarly topper. If you have a hard mattress or can feel springs, this would be a great deal. If you want to sleep on a soft, cloudlikevsurfsce, there are better options. I'd say this is a medium thickness topper, and I didn't notice any particular "zone" benefits. The elastic at the bottom is generous, and it did not slip on my twin XL mattress. It washed and dried well and will be used regularly at our house. Nice product.
