It couldn’t be easier to set this up. And it’s quite sturdy. I wouldn’t stand in it but you can certainly roll it out as an extra seat. I’d hoped to use it as a foot stool but it’s too short for my chair. So now it sits next to it which is even better. I’ve been looking for a strong step stool/storage for my daughter’s dorm. Her bed is elevated about 5’ so she needs to climb up. I inspected the lid and it felt thick and solid, then I put the lid on and stood still on it (150lbs) for about a full minute. Much to my delight, it didn’t budge at all and most importantly, I felt safe. Keep in mind, its purpose is to give her a 1-2 second boost, if that, and not for dancing on it ~ lol. These little ottomans fit perfectly with the love-seats in my tiny-house cabin. They store an extra set of sheets for a twin bed in one and a fluffy twin mattress pad in the other, but I could easily fit more. We can sit on them when we need extra seating.
