  • Works! Kind of cheap/lightweight but it works
Size: 20W
I have the battery charger connected to a driveway queen of a vehicle to keep the battery charged (modern cars always have battery drain due to electronics). The panel is solid and fairly heavy for its size, but has survived rain and light hail without issue. The wiring is light (16 gauge?) and the charge controller is basic. The battery terminal clamps are lightweight and really want to just fall apart (they haven't, yet). But, it works...can't say anything more negative about it because it just works. The queen started first try after sitting for 3 months, no low/dead battery issues. ... show more

  • Works great to keep ride-on lawn mower battery charged..
Size: 20W
Easy to install and use and works great for a 12 volt trickle charger for an occasionally used ride-on lawn mower...

  • Very nice panel with a terrible wiring harness.
Size: 50W
First off, I never intended to use just one of these panels to charge my 12V lead acid car battery with the included PWM charge controller and attached wiring harness. Rather, I intend to buy multiple examples of these panels and configure them with a more comprehensive MPPT controller, LiFePO4 battery and inverter in a carry-in-car and set-up-quickly portable application. The 23.1" (541mm) square footprint is ideal for the portability I need and the price is certainly right. Fortunately, the fit and finish of the panel itself is very good. This sort of thing would have easily cost twice as much just a few short years ago. There are a few rough edges on the corners of the aluminum framing, but that's a minor point. The individual cells look to be very cleanly assembled, topped with a nice piece of glass and the caulking sealant job along the interior of the frame is very clean. I knew from the Amazon listing, however, that the panel would come with a 6' long piece of spindly zip cord terminated with a 2-pin trailer connector. The good news is that the junction box termination on the back of the panel is of the conventional type with a water-proof seal. It's going to be relatively easy to solder in better cabling with standard MC-4 connectors. As it turns out, the attached cable (basically 14 gauge red/black lamp cord) had a short . . . zero voltage and amp readings on the multimeter at the connector end! Readings off the tabs inside the junction box (easy to pry off the back cover with a flat blade screwdriver) indicates, though, that the panel outputs 23.6V and 2.5A on my quickly-assembled back yard test rig (picture attached.) That's very good. I tested at Noon with reasonably perpendicular panel/Sun angling on a cloudless day. Ambient temperature was approximately 70° F / 21° C Next, I trimmed/stripped the 14 gauge wires to within about 1 foot of the junction box and got similarly good readings. Subsequently, I found out that the short was in the remaining (now detached) ~5 feet of cable somewhere along the black/negative wire. I did not test the included PWM charge controller. If it was just for the panel itself, I'd give the Solperk SK-M50W a solid 5 stars. I'm knocking it down to 4 stars because the wiring harness is terrible and, in my case, non-functioning out of the box. I will be buying more of these panels for my above-described application, knowing that the other included bits will be going into the waste can and I'll need to solder in suitable 10 gauge wires at the junction box end, terminated at the other end with real MC-4 connectors. The additional attached photo here shows the back of the panel (junction box cover removed) with labeling. In case the resolution of the photo isn't good enough to clearly see, the specifications shown on the label are as follows . . . • Does great job keeping electric fence battery charged
Size: 20W
Works very well and keeps the battery topped off without overcharging. Nice LED indicators that tell you the battery/charger status. Would definitely buy again.

  • Great Inexpensive Trickle Charger
Size: 20W
I bought this to keep my swamp buggy battery charged during the off season. It works like a charm. I measured the voltage in full sun and it measured 18.8 volts. It only puts out 1.1 amp so it wouldn't be good for charging up a discharged deep cycle battery, but that's not what it is for. It was easy to hook up and I mounted it to the side of my shed facing south. My battery was a little low and it charged it up in a day and then maintains it well. Works very well for what it is designed for. ... show more

  • Generator Saver
Size: 20W
Was gifted 13000 watt generator last year, my wife is so happy. Even though we've never had a significant power outage in the 28 years I've lived here, I'm obliged to keep my free generator in good condition just in case. First the generator needed a shed to store it in. Then it needed a bunch of very heavy duty cables to connect the generator to the house. Then it needed an electrician to connect the water pump to the generator in a safe way. Next, because we live in Ohio I got a oil core heater so the generator will start when the temperature outside is below freezing. Finally, I went to start the generator two weeks ago, just because your supposed to run them every now and then and the battery was dead. So I got this nifty solar trickle charger/maintainer. In a few hours (on a cloudy day) the battery was charged enough to start the generator! I still need to pound a T fence post into the ground next to the shed to permanently mount the solar panel. I'm happy with my investment of this solar panel with control module. ... show more

  • Works
Size: 20W
Seems to be working just fine on my zero turn mower battery. I did try to use it on leads I already had connected from my battery tender brand charger. Don't do that. The connectors will connect, but they decided to swap the positive and negative sides, so they will not work with battery tender cables unless you swap the negative and positive connections on the battery. Then you have red to negative terminal and nobody wants that. The only other con to this is you might as well order an extension cable because the one that come off the controller is very short...like a foot. If you want to mount the controller to your wall and expect it to reach your equipment, you will be disappointed. Other than those two things, seems great so far...only 2 weeks in though. ... show more
