I needed a reliable way to keep my spare vehicle's battery topped off without dragging an extension cord out to the driveway every few weeks. Most cheap trickle chargers barely push enough voltage to overcome natural drain, but a 20W rating seemed like it would offer enough overhead to actually get the job done. The kit arrived with everything necessary to get started right away. I was glad to confirm it comes with both alligator clips for temporary use and O-ring terminals for a more permanent installation. I went with the O-rings for a cleaner setup under the hood. The panel housing feels rigid enough for long-term outdoor exposure, and the adjustable bracket makes it simple to dial in the right angle for the sun. What really makes this setup work is the smart MPPT controller. It handles the charge regulation much more efficiently than older, standard controllers, ensuring the battery gets a steady trickle without getting overcooked on extremely bright afternoons. There is one small detail to keep in mind before you install it. The cables running from the panel to the controller, and then to the battery, are a bit on the short side. If you plan to mount the solar panel high up on an RV roof or on a post away from the battery box, you will almost certainly need to buy an extension cable or splice in some extra wire of your own. It does exactly what I needed it to do. My battery stays consistently charged even after sitting untouched for weeks, and the whole system was straightforward to piece together.

I bought a new Hydraulic Dump Trailer and needed a way to keep the battery on the Hydraulic Unit charged, since I park it away from all the plugs I have. Every time I have checked the battery, it has had a full charge, even in the cloudy days. It doesn't take much sunlight to keep it charged. The wiring is simple and the installation is super easy, especially with the instructions included. The length of the charging cable that came with it is very long. I am thinking of ordering one for my lawn mower and my motorcycle. The charging panel that tells the charge on the battery is really easy to understand also. I will give it the 5 star recommendation.

I use this for to maintain a battery in the field that powers an electric fence. While it does not maintain it fully, I can leave it out there for several days without bringing it in for a full recharge. That is good enough for my purpose. I think It would keep a battery in a boat or a battery that was not being constantly in use charged with ease. We'll see about the longevity of the product.

This is an incredibly well-built trickle charger setup. I do my own lawn mower maintenance and spend a lot of time working with heavy-duty vehicle hardware, so having a reliable way to keep 12V batteries topped off between uses is essential. The corrosion-resistant aluminum frame and tempered glass are rugged enough to just mount and forget about, even in harsh weather. The 360-degree adjustable bracket is a huge plus—it bolts down securely and makes dialing in the perfect sun angle effortless. This works great out of the box. For the price I was a little concerned, but now I am very happy. There are good instruction for operation, and when I gave it atest on a cloudy day it had 14.6 V at the battery connections. The battery was dead and reading 0 volts when i started the test, 2 hours later, through the clouds, and the battery was at 9.6 V. Can't wait to give it a try on the camper to see how much it will charge the batteries during a full day.
