I love an open fire and could have a fire every night if I had the time, but my wife is allergic to trees, so she is affected by the smoke more than others. I thought that I would give the "Smokeless" fire pit a try. I looked at other brands and was put off by some build quality complaints, while this one was praised for build quality. I was really looking forward to spending more time with her around a fire and seeing how it really performs vs all the hype. I can say that I was VERY impressed in so many ways. It's very easy to get a fire going since it breathes so well, and once it gets going, it puts out a lot of beautiful flames, nearly zero smoke, and an insane amount of heat (manageable heat... I'll explain). While the fire seems to be focused and you get ALL the heat from it, you really get the heat in an upward cone shape away from the pit. In other words, if you sit around the fire, you get heat, but not super intense. If you stand up and get near the pit, you step into the area that the heat radiates, and it does radiate a LOT of heat. Even as the fire dies down and you only have a couple logs burning, you feel more heat that a roaring fire in other open pits (minus the smoke of course). The pit itself is beautiful, the operation is fantastic, there's nearly zero smoke, and most of all, you don't smell like a fire pit at the end of the evening (that's a huge plus). I followed up the purchase with a base and a lid, and now they are selling a handle to move it around as well. This is one of the most exciting purchases I've made in quite some time. It's truly a surprise to get something that really lives up to what it promised and so much more. I really did get a lot more heat and used less wood over the course of the evening. I'm confident that you'll love this product ( I am in no way endorsed by Solo Stove, nor did they ask me to write a review of any kind). I hope this helps someone out there make a solid decision.

We have a traditional fire pit in our back yard but I’ve always wanted one for our front driveway (as the back yard is huge and a little lonely feeling at times). Very nice to be able to use this and greet neighbors and my kids friends parents as they pick them up etc. Plus the smoke from a traditional fire pit tends to follow me and my kids and makes us all smell like a whole burnt tree. I didn’t even know until recently smokeless fire pits were a thing until I was bestowed that amazing heat deflector for this very fire pit. This is an investment piece that is pure quality-tbh-I probably should have waited until I had budgeted for this piece but with winter upon us I was determined to create budget room and oh boy I am so glad I did! The fire performance is absolutely transfixing, the look is sleek and we put it in our large side garden when we aren’t using it (making it portable as promised). If anyone is wondering about the heat deflector. Just search it up on Amazon as it is separate but really levels it up and spreads heat outward instead of upward. I would enthusiastically recommend the Yukon Solo fire pit to everyone-splurge and if you’re looking this is the one!! Also in case it helps anyone-family of 6 and plenty of heat even sitting a bit back whether we use the deflector or not (it’s just a nice add on!) I will say, if you don’t get the fire roaring you may wonder why you have smoke-I believe in the manual it does explain that in order to work as intended that the fire needs to be going pretty good. Dry out our wood-this helps! If you have wood that isn’t seasoned a good trick is to lay pieces out next to the pit-my family has done this many times with success!

The media could not be loaded. This fire pit is amazing!!! Is it 100% “smokeless”, no but it’s a fire, however I do not finish smelling like smoke. If it’s a windy day, adjust the location accordingly. Does it burn through a lot of wood, Yes because the heat is so strong and powerful. Reviews that state the heat is not felt are crazy, I sit outside with just a long sleeve hoodie in the cold, that’s how good the heat is. We purchased the 27”, nice and big.

The Solo stove lit with just one match. It arrived in perfect condition and was easy to assemble. We enjoyed a lovely fire on Christmas evening. We noticed most of the heat goes up, not out to where we were sitting. The sides do get very hot eventually. Some smoke to start but quickly disappeared as fire grew hotter.

I absolutely love my Yukon stove! I'm an Eagle Scout and I've been tending fires of all sizes my whole life and this thing is a game changer! It is so efficient at burning it blows my mind how this design took so long to be created. You don't even have to be good at making fire with this thing, it practically does the job for you. And it always burns every last coal all the way down to ash because of the constant air flow produced by its design. So that's added peace of mind. The ash pan and stand are a must to have. The stand makes the air flow even more efficient and allows the bottom of the stove to stay clean. The ground will barely even get warm beneath the stove with the stand so you can save any grassy areas from too much heat over time. It also stows in the stove. The ash pan is easy to remove and catches virtually all of the ash. Very easy to clean compared to most pits and very easy to transport. One thing I will suggest is that you need to also purchase the Yukon heat deflector with this stove if you plan to stand or sit around it like a traditional fire for warmth. The insulating walls are very effective and the heat can't really be felt to the sides of the stove, only above it when close. That being said, the deflector works PERFECTLY. If you just want a contained pit for burning then don't worry about the deflector. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a consistent pit that's worth the added value.
