This deflector works. Re-directs heat out 2-3 feet when having a moderate fire. Does get very "sooty" on the underside. But it states that and what would you expect when fire is constantly burning under it. Packaging is over-the-top. They even provide a nice bag to hold the three legs (which I do need once assembled). Look, omit the nice bag, put the legs in a small brown box, ship the deflector in a plain brown box to save a few bucks on the item. More than I wanted to spend but it does work. ... show more

The deflector is easy to install once you understand how the clips for the legs work. The clips detach nicely so you can remove the legs. I kept the box and foam inserts to store the deflector when not in use. A black bag is included for storing the legs. After each use, I wipe down the deflector to remove any carbon with a paper towel and Windex. This is a good addition to the Bonfire Solo Stove. ... show more

I purchased the heat deflector after watching many youtube videos on the effectiveness of the device, and couldn't be happier with it. I have sat around campfires for years, and always hated the smoke. The solo stove is truly smokeless when used as directed, but the heat deflector is a must have for warmth! If I could have bought it on sale I would have been happier, but still wouldn't want to use the stove without it ... show more

The legs holding the heat shield seem a bit loose when resting on the solo stove. Wood was relatively easy to add to the fire. It is important to have the fire wood appropriately sized. Having the heat shield in place does mimize messing with the fire

The Solo Stove heat deflector distributes the heat in an efficient manner allowing for more comfort on those chilly days. I bought one for my Bonfire and while they're not cheap, the cost vs reward is well worth it. I looked at YouTube hacks for a cheap way out and rejected them in favor of a factory engineered deflector. It assembles and takes down easily. It can be stored in the original carton after use. Great product. Love the solo stove and this accessory makes it so much better. Can really feel the difference in the amount of heat that spreads out from the stove. I added JB Weld to the legs because they donโ€™t stay on the shield very well. Just a minor change.
