Okay first of all this is a very sturdy and nice looking product, in fact it was so sturdy and nice looking I sent back two that malfunctioned and decided to try a third. (third time is a charm they say) not in this case. After two weeks the third one developed the same issue as the second one (abnormal door closure). This would be a great door opener if they could get the software right, but unfortunately has not been the case. We have gone through so many batteries and not to mention the fuel driving to the amazon return site now three times (probably $60.00 ) not to mention all the time involved. I hate giving negative reveiws but be forewarned, unless they can fix these issues, beware. ... show more

I liked the product until the 2nd evening when the door would attempt to close but couldn't because there were pine shavings in the track. It just kept trying and trying. I cleaned the track out as best as I could, in the dark, but wouldn't work. Had to take a piece of plywood and some cinder blocks to close up the opening. So, since I've received this door this is how I close the chickens up for the night. I took a battery out to prevent the door from continually trying to close. My new door arrives in less than a week. It's the popular green and white one. They have figured the track issue and I cannot wait until it arrives. I will send this back if they'll take it without the original packaging. Best of luck if you buy this one. ... show more

It does not work right an error message says abnormal closer. I even reset it.

    • For the first day or was heaven. By the end of the week it was hell.
It failed after 2 weeks of use. Toward the end it required daily cleaning to even stand a chance at closing. This door WILL NOT save you time. It will consume it.

Looks good, worked ok for two days but I had to use a knife to remove bedding from track for it to close. I went on vacation and if it weren’t for a relative checking on my chickies they would have been subject to predators for 4 days. ( we had removed a lot of the bedding since we were leaving for a few days) I thought maybe it was user error because when I told her to just clean the track out she said it still didn’t work. We finally got it to close by catching it before it opened by turning the powers off. (It just keep opening and closing) I bought a different brand and it works wonderfully, we wanted to try this one because it opens to the side which works better for our second coop. We are you to alter the door and go with the auto door we use on the first coop. Very disappointed. ... show more
