  • Heat Pump Malfuction and A/C not Cooling
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
I bought the 12,000 BTU A/C with 10,000 BTU heater unit (Model: WS5-12HW-301). I had it installed and after about 3 days, the heating function stopped working. When I select "Heat" on the control panel the fan blows but it is not hot whatsoever. I contacted Soleus but they only confirmed it is malfunctioning and that I needed to seek a refund or return. I paid a contractor to install the unit and I would have to pay him again to remove it so that I could return it. Really disappointing that after buying most expensive unit available thinking that I was buying quality, I got something that does not work. The A/C function also does not work. Same issue in that I can hear the compressor come on but it does not blow cool air. I would also warn that even when the unit does work properly, the unit is not capable of producing hot air if the outside air temperature is 40-45 degrees F or lower. Maybe that is typical of all window/saddle units but just want to ensure that everyone is aware of this before buying it. ... show more

  • Great Within Spec
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
The most important part of the review: I live. in a mild climate and my energy prices are literally criminal (In 2020 PG&E plead guilty to 84 counts of manslaughter). With my use case it's paid for itself within about 6 months in savings. It is an actual heat pump not just a window AC with mere heat strips. I'd recommend making sure you have a 20 amp circuit as it will help itself to its full rated load with some degree of regularity while operating. During the summer I use a drip bucket for the condensate as the system to remove it doesn't seem to work very well. It's not super quiet, it's not super loud (I'm probably more tolerant than most). It's heavy and bulky, have a friend help install it. I don't mean to focus on the downsides, I'm just trying to be informative and give you a good expectation, I'd buy it again in a heart beat. It can put out a ton of heat down to out door temps of 40 F. It can still put out some heat down to. 30 F but definitely looses efficiency. The AC still works in 95 F degree outdoor heat. If you need it to operate outside of these temps, you may want to look elsewhere, but if you know what you are looking at and have a use case similar to mine, then I highly recommend. 5 stars! ... show more

  • Vibration is too much
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
Works well to cool and the heat function is nice to have. but....... This this is loud and vibrates my whole apartment to the point that it bothers my neighbors. It's embarrassing it sounds like there is a diesel truck idling in my window

  • Disappointed, IT DOESN"T HEAT when temps are below freezing!
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
It is a great idea and works most of the time. When it falls below freezing it will not heat at all and throws a LO error meaning that temperature is to low to use it. Should read more closely before purchasing. If you live anywhere where it falls below freezing even for short periods, you will have to have a secondary heat source. ... show more

  • It Does Heat below 41 Degrees
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
I've bought the Soleusair 12.000 AC/Heater/Heat Pump to replace expensive to operate baseboard electric heaters in my living room which is fairly large and drafty. I had read all of the mixed at best and negative reviews on the unit but decide to take a chance as the Midea AC/Heater will turn itself off at 41 degrees. Have it up and running now and it is delivering modest heat while the outside temperature is in the thirties. It is definitely not a beast to install, does not shake the wall and is not overly noisy as some have reported. Also it does have a defrost cycle which seems to work. ... show more

  • Simplicity!!!!
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
This thing not only is quiet, but it also does a great job. It was 35°f outside today & this thing kept 900sqft room at 80°f inside. I installed this for an elderly widow i know who doesnt have heat or ac in the addition on her home. Installing a traditional hvac system wasnt practical & she didn't want holes cut in the house. This unit was my solution. Price was a bit expensive up front, but it took little to no time to install it. She was absolutely thrilled with how well this unit does. It does so well, im purchasing one for my home to lower my heating & cooling cost. I would've gave it 10 stars if it was an option ... show more

  • PUT A BUCKET UNDER IT. PUT A BUCKET UNDER IT.
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
I bought two of these- @ almost $800/per unit. I did try to share video, but for some reason, it won't post. I live in a VERY DRY CLIMATE. In fact, at the time of this post: Washita County, Oklahoma has received less rain in the past year than Yuma, Arizona. They are leveled and mounted as per the instructions- but they are making at least 2 and a half gallons of water per day, and that wouldn't upset me except for the fact that it's dripping from under the unit on to my drywall. I contacted customer support, who told me to tilt the unit upward on the front, downward on the outside wall, which made the problem worse- They then told me to make sure I didn't have it in "dry mode" I didn't. Got back in touch with them and they told me to remove the rubber drain plug and put a bucket under it... PUT A BUCKET UNDER IT... $800 UNIT PUT A BUCKET UNDER IT?!? YOU'RE TELLING ME I SPENT $800 ON A G0D D@MNED AIR CONDITIONER- THAT I COULD'VE BOUGHT FOR HALF PRICE FROM ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE AND I NEED TO PUT A M0THERF*CKIN' BUCKET UNDER IT? I wrote them back to get a refund at that point- they told me I'd have to ship it back to them on my dime- these things weigh a ton, so shipping it would be a fortune. Then they told me I'd just get another unit after upon inspection. The units cool well, I'll give them that. Installation was as easy as it gets. Noise isn't terrible at all. And my kill-o-watt says it's doing pretty damn good on power consumption. Seriously- if I'm spending that kind of money on a "top of the line machine" I don't want to have to replace my drywall then have a random bucket under it... The value just ain't there. Am I the crazy one here? ... show more

  • Low profile window AC
Style: 12,000 BTU with WiFi & Heat (2024)
The manual doesn’t explain what the symbols mean. I got an error code that I couldn’t find out what it meant . Can only turn on and change the modes with the remote control. Confusion on how to change the different modes. But I like the low profile which does not block the window view.
