I purchased the 6,000 BTU unit with the intention of replacing the 240v in-wall unit (which had never worked) with this one. To be fair, I bought the new A/C months ago, intending to make the swap in early spring. But dread of the project reinforced my tendency to procrastinate, so I didn't attack this until August. Removing the old in-wall unit and the exterior sleeve was a bear, as someone (I assume a previous owner who installed it) decided to use a lot of that spray-foam during the install, which really made extricating a task. But I got it out! I purposely chose this A/C because it's a saddle-type, having all the noisy parts on the other side of the wall. Also, the weight was a consideration since I would be heaving it up on my own.. And the unit is Wi-Fi enabled, so it can be linked to our system and cell phones (an excellent feature when one's spouse has a habit of misplacing all remotes). The A/C services a large area: our kitchen and dining room are open and connected, and this side of the house faces the south, which gets quite warm during the summer months. Installation of this new A/C was straightforward, though I didn't use most of the included accessories since I installed it as an in-wall unit rather than in a window. I did ensure the unit is level front-back and side-side, as directed in the instructions. There is a drain plug on the low left side of the unit- the instructions says to remove the plug and drain out any condensate prior to putting it away for the season- I wasn't sure if I would need to route the drain outside (the drain is on the inside portion of the unit, not the outside), but I was prepared to do just that. It gets quite warm and humid here, and even so, I have NOT seen any drips or condensation on the unit. So far, I've seen no reason to do any drain line routing. Linking the unit to the Soleus phone app (which is very intuitive, by the way) was quick and easy! I use Android, my wife uses Apple, and the app works perfectly on both. The A/C also seamlessly linked to our wireless home system. The controls on the unit are touch-sensitive so don't go pushing them- just touch them (a nice touch, Soleus! ). After having used this unit for awhile now, I can say that it is excellent! It's freakishly quiet, it keeps that large area nicely cool, quckly cools the area if it is warm already,, and we have NEVER felt the need to use it in any mode other than ECO. I wish I'd installed this sooner, and I also wish the window in our bedroom was a bit bigger as I'd put one of these in it instead of the mini unit we have in there now (and it's a LOT louder!). If you're looking for a window unit, or even as an in-wall unit like I did (see the picture) you can't go wrong with this one. It is SUPER quiet (by FAR the quietest unit I've ever heard), well-designed, and is high quality. Soleus, you've hit a home run with this one!     • BE AWARE -DON’T BUY IT!!!

I bought this unit in May/21, had delivered in the end of June/21. It worked okay for the remaining of the 2021 summer. I live in MA so we don’t use ac all year long. On the fall it was storage. Spring 2022 we put the unit back on the window. Started to have problems with the unit around July, doing a VERY LOUD NOISE and keeping showing the message FL on the panel. Contacted Amazon, they asked me to contact Soleus directly, since they are third party, Amazon has no responsibility with the product. I did, they took long to contact me back, I had to called Amazon again and had them called the manufacture and transferred to me, myself I called a bunch of times and left messages and they never returned. So when finally I got in touch with someone there, he told me he does not handle product warranty, I asked if I can speak with who does, he said no he wasn’t available, but he will try to help me. He asked me the questions what the unit problem was, what noise was doing etc. Kept going back and forth talking to someone there, probably the one who handles warranty that refuses to talk, and he determined the unit had a defective. Unfixable! When I asked how can we proceed to replace my unit, he said it past the warranty. I questioned how a product costed over $600 dollars was made to last only one summer? That wasn’t fair and they should offer me at least something to replace my defective unit. No they did not offer me anything, they refused to send someone to fixed, specially after over the phone determined is unfixable and they refused to replace because is after the “ 1 year warranty” . Never specified and I never saw any warranty description on the Amazon seller ads. BE AWARE IF YOU BUY REPUTABLE BRANDS THEY HAVE AT LEAST TWO YEARS WARRANTY FOR SMALL APPLIANCES. One year ago, the product WAS relatively new, there wasn’t a lot reviews, specially talking about the unit been a little over a year and started to show signs of problems. But now if you take a look on reviews you will see I’m not the only one with the same problem ( code FL message on the display and extremely loud noise after 10min on) After tried all my options how to be refund with Amazon, manufacturer and even my credit card company, I had to embrace my mistake of buying this no brand unit and have the loss/waste of $610 dollars for an air conditioner that didn’t last, was used in only one single summer . The most important part of the review: I live. in a mild climate and my energy prices are literally criminal (In 2020 PG&E plead guilty to 84 counts of manslaughter). With my use case it's paid for itself within about 6 months in savings. It is an actual heat pump not just a window AC with mere heat strips. I'd recommend making sure you have a 20 amp circuit as it will help itself to its full rated load with some degree of regularity while operating. During the summer I use a drip bucket for the condensate as the system to remove it doesn't seem to work very well. It's not super quiet, it's not super loud (I'm probably more tolerant than most). It's heavy and bulky, have a friend help install it. I don't mean to focus on the downsides, I'm just trying to be informative and give you a good expectation, I'd buy it again in a heart beat. It can put out a ton of heat down to out door temps of 40 F. It can still put out some heat down to. 30 F but definitely looses efficiency. The AC still works in 95 F degree outdoor heat. If you need it to operate outside of these temps, you may want to look elsewhere, but if you know what you are looking at and have a use case similar to mine, then I highly recommend. 5 stars! ... show more
