Solera Sliders by Lippert Components provide attractive and economical protection for all of your slide rooms. The Black Solera Slider attaches to both the slide room and the outside wall of the RV, creating a complete seal around the slide room. Dust, smoke, leaves, bugs and debris are blocked by the sleeve even when the slide room is retracted back into the RV. Solera Sliders are designed to fit many different rooms ranging in size from 56" to 188" in length and extend up to 50". Solera Sliders come complete with mounting hardware and awning rail. The hardware hole pattern is universal and will match most competitive brands, alleviating the need to patch holes. • Slide Topper easy to install
This is not a hard installation. I bought a 10 foot unit and installed it myself by following the instructions and using a little forethought. Works very well.

  • We forgot the other reason to have a slide topper...
Our first travel trailer had a slide topper on one slide out and the awning served the same purpose on the other side. When we bought our new travel trailer I considered adding one to our slide out, but further reading resulted in a 50/50 split on whether is was worthwhile. I know they keep the sun and leaves off the slide, but you still have to get up under them occasionally to make sure there isn't any debris. Our dealer wanted around 800.00 to install one for our 10' slide. On our second trip in the new travel trailer we woke to rain which cancelled our plans for the day, time to break camp and go home. I had the foresight to tilt the trailer and drain most of the water off the slide out, but found myself climbing around inside the camper after it was retracted trying to mop up all the water that didn't drain off. What a pain. Came home and ordered the topper. Installation was easy, as others noted I was two screws short for the track that mounts on the camper but I had some on hand. Just take your time and measure everything. Also, there are TWO spring pins, one on each end. If you take your hand and rotate the roll of material in the right direction you take the tension off the pins making them easier to remove. ... show more

  • Mount more than 3" above slideout
The installation for this topper was straightforward - take your time. Some major points are noted with a * - buy some 3/4" butyl tape to seal all the holes you are going to make in the side of the trailer * mount the rail on the trailer side 6" above the top of the slideout NOT 3" as the installation guide says. - make a line on the side of the trailer with the ends of the rail marked and centered. - apply the butyl tape to the supports to go on the slideout and install the supports. The butyl should squeeze out slightly. * mount the holders in the lowest mounting rails, NOT THE HIGHEST if you have clearance - I have 1" of clearance between the slideout upper edge and the awning doing this. - apply the butyl tape, leaving the release liner on one side to the railing. - get at least one helper and at least two step ladders. - align the railing to the line you drew 6" above the top of the slideout flange and starting at one end, press the butyl tape and the railing into place. You only get one shot at this so one person holds the railing off the side of the trailer, the other presses the railing with butyl tape down. - drive the screws into the side of the trailer thrug the railing GENTLY - very easy to strip out the screw holes. - spray silicone into the channel * helper holds up the awning and slide the bead on the awning into the slot. With silicone it should slide easily. - extend and retract the slideout a couple times, then pull on the edges of the awning and drive the screws through the railing on the side of the trailer and the awning bead so it doesn't shift. - add the lockscrews to the mounting plates on the slideout I did not give this 5 stars because on my 13' topper, which only extends 18" the awning is not taut in the center and collects water This was caused by the 3" mounting height above the slideout that was recommended (if you call Solera the recommendation is 3" to 6" with a 3" MINIMUM). Which is different than what the installation guide says. You can tighten the awning once it is installed by reinstalling the locking pins, releasing one end at a time and giving the awning bracket a revolution or two to make it tighter. I like the awing but the instructions, also on YouTube for 3" above the slideout top will cause water to pool on top of the awning much less snow. ... show more

  • About 3 Hour Install
Watched a few U-Tube videos before install. Very straight forward install after video and reading instructions. Used black burial tape and pre drilled holes (much easier). Installed on a Fifth-Wheel camper with a126" Topper working 10 feet in the air. All done in about three hours. Nice quality same as RV Dealer installs. Fantastic shipping, arrived perfect. Need two people for some of the install. ... show more

  • Works perfectly on my Grand Design Imagine 2500RL
Ordered this awning right after I purchased my RV. I watched a few videos on how to install it. It was very easy to install as it took only a couple of hours. I am on the road with it now and learned very quickly it was well worth the price. The first 2 campgrounds I stayed at had lots of trees with lots of debris falling from them. Glad I don't have to get on top of the RV and clean off the slideout every time I pull it back in. Money well spent IMHO. ... show more

  • Great value. Came complete with the cord (awning) rail ...
Great value. Came complete with the cord (awning) rail plus all brackets and fasteners. Came packed in a hard cardboard tube that survived a cross-country freight shipment in fine condition. Written mounting instructions were included, but I found it very helpful to watch an on-line video or two on how to install these first. The only things besides tools that I needed to get was 3/4 inch butyl tape (available on Amazon) and my dear spouse to help. Taking our time, it took about 1.5 hours to install but was very straightforward. I recommend paying close attention to the fitment instructions on Lippert's website to order the correct size for your slide. I give this five stars because of the very good price and complete package that was provided. Amazon's Scheduled Delivery Service dropped this off four days after the date I was given at the time of ordering due to this traveling via truck freight vice a package delivery service. All in all though, a real bargain. ... show more
