I bought this for my soon to be husband to repair his GPS unit on his Mavic Pro drone. He was trying to use a bigger one not originally for electronics. This is a perfect all in one kit with different size tips for electronics and small drone parts. The tweezers also help immensely hold small things in place. Plus it comes with the 2 different soldering flex and rosin perfect for electronics. He was trying to use one we had bought for the new plumbing in our bathroom. It also had the stand to keep the tip in while you have it on so you don't burn up anything setting it down which also houses the sponge to wipe the tip off on. If you make a mess don't worry it also has a suction thing to remove excess solder. It all stores perfectly in the little case which he can take anywhere on trips for small repairs. I have never soldered anything before so I dont have a lot to say about the soldering iron itself. I heated up fine, seemed to maintain temperature fine and served its purpose. I got a good solder on my wires. The instruction booklet that came with the kit is rather bare. While it does provide some information, for a beginer such as myself that doesnt know whats for what or whats the best job for each tip. It fell short. I ended up watching tutorials on youtube to understand. My biggest complaint is how the kit was shipped. It was placed in a box 10 times larger than the case which I am assuming caused the shaft for the heating element to be bent. A small amount of force worked to straighten it out. Shipping in a smaller box very well could help prevent this with future orders. Overall Im happy and it does the job.

Well, I purchased this set because I make a lot of electronics repairs. Was not expecting much for the price but I must say that I am not disappointed. The case is tougher than I expected and everything fits nicely inside. The hold down straps are elastic, not Velcro, so it's a little struggle getting everything in and out but not bad. I was impressed with the pen iron which heated up very quickly compared to others I have owned. The solder sucker remover worked very well. I like the base holder with the spring attachment because you don't have to mess around with positioning the hot pen just right. The temperature dial seems to work fine. There are only 2 things that I would have liked better ... A case that allows for keeping the stand intact, rather than having to disassemble it each time, and also a spot in the case for storage to keep more solder and extra wire in. All in all, I am pretty happy.

Only four stars at first thought The kit contains everything pictured in the first photo. However, down a few pics it shows a roll of wicking material and a second set of pointy tweezers, neither of which are included in this kit. I was disappointed in that, but not too. I'll have to be extra careful not to throw the iron back into the bag until it is fully cooled, the interior is lined with some sort of plastic or nylon. But for the price it is a good value, even without the two items in the lower pics. The instructions for the soldering iron are better than most of the poor Chinese translations. They are mostly understandable, and actually contain good advice. Section A: Welding Nozzle using has some important tips for new users. Things like "Note: do not file on welding nozzle with rasper" are pretty clear. Many new users may not know you can ruin the tip by sanding or filing off the detritus; it should be cleaned off before slag build-up gets bad, using a damp sponge or damp rag. "#15. Children don't know the danger of iron, so this product should be placed where children are not easy contact..." is another good instruction; it's just common sense, but how common is common sense? Lastly, it includes about eight lengths of colored wires, very thin. I had no idea about them, but they were useful soldered to small DC motors for hobby stuff. heck, I'll give this set five stars just for the (mostly) clear instructions, despite the slightly misleading photos. However, if you do not already have a big heavy spiral iron holder like I do, spend three dollars more and buy a kit that includes one. The tiny iron holder in this kit is not exactly safe.
