I can't solder hardly at all, but this was easy for me to use. I repaired an old LED battery powered lantern for the camper. Looked new, now it works like new. Ground wire, VERY tiny, on a switch.

    • Soldering Iron out of the box DOSNT WORK
I was searching around for a decent soldering iron with a case so it wouldn’t get banged up when i found this kit and thought it’d be perfect but unfortunately right out of the case the iron DID NOT WORK the screen didn’t turn on, pressing a bunch of buttons and nothing. honestly this would be a 5 star all day with everything that comes in the kit, especially the flux is amazing and the iron and swappable tips feel of really good quality. but unfortunately all of that renders useless if the soldering iron is broke :( ... show more

    • Good set, with a week iron stand.
Good kit for the money. Easy to use and has everything necessary to get to work immediately. Comes with a spool of solder, some solder paste, some extra tips and a stand. It has a nice soft rubber grip on the iron itself. The 1 issue i would say with this kit is the iron stand. It's a solid piece of metal with a cutout for the iron. In order to use the stand, you have to bend the metal to get the piece upright. Well then to store the stand you have to bend the metal down to make it flat. then to use it again, bend the metal to raise it.... you get the point. you can only bend metal so much before it breaks. If you solder regularly and leave the stand up, it wont be an issue. but if you solder some and want to store this, i cant see how long the stand will last. i think you're going to be looking for a new stand. I bet my stand 10 times and it's already bending easier and feeling week. i just went ahead and made my own iron stand out of a couple of scrap pieces of metal. ... show more

This soldering set includes everything you need to start a soldering project or to replace a broken soldering iron. The soldering iron heats up fairly quickly, about 2mins, to working temperature and has temperature adjustment dial. It is easy to hold and the top is interchangeable with other tips from my collection. It performs better than the ones from big name department stores for sure.
