I used these to light up some Halloween decorations (posable skeletons) on my lawn. They came with 6 color-changing solar-powered lights, thick plastic lawn stakes, and some screws (I didn’t use these). Setup was a breeze; pressing the button on the light toggles between colors as well as on/off mode (useful feature for storage). Lights automatically turn on at dusk and off in the morning. The brightness was much better than my Halloween-store black lights and have also been perfect for nighttime home mood lighting. Once staked into the ground the lights can be tilted to point flat or upwards by any amount up to 90 degrees (ie straight up). I have only used these for a week so can’t speak to their longevity. i bought and used several times at festivals, which requires moving them around and adjusting. They held up great. Solid lighting colors and bright. In the summer the lights lasted 5 or so hours.. now that it's Fall, they don't work nearly as well but that's to be expected due to less sun.

I bought these back in October but only put my first 2 up a little over a week ago. The first couple days after I put them up, the lights were on, but didn't seem to be all that bright. I went out last night to run an errand, and one of the 2 I put out was only like 1/2 lit. By the time I got home about 30 min later, it was dead. I thought it could be because we had not had much sun the last few days, so I had it outside today in direct sunlight. Tried it after the sun went down, and it would not power on at all. and now the 2nd one is starting to look weak. Really annoyed that the pictures show these houses brightly lit, and mine wouldn't even totally light my garage door from a couple feet away. Do not recommend. ... show more

I had some hope for these, but was disappointed. I'm not sure how the reviewers have such different experiences with the lights. Things I liked: - Various color options - Solar - Sleek design - May work well in very dark rural environment Things that didn't work for me: - Solar panel position is dependent on the position of the lights. That means I either point the solar panel at the sun or point the lights where I want them - not both. - In my suburban neighborhood in December, houses and trees block the sun too much to charge the lights much. I could only get limited charge. I had to place the lights close to the house to get any light, but that meant they only got partial morning sun. - Not very bright. The street light over 100' away washed out the lights that were only 3' away from the target. If they had been even 1/2 as bright as the pictures, I would have been happy. I tried to light a tree and only got light up 2' on the trunk. Even 4 lights on a small tree didn't stand out enough to be noticed. - Not a viable for holiday decorating. ... show more

Unless these are bathed in direct sunlight you can bet on what to expect. Either the lights shine beautifully but not for long or they shine faintly and for even shorter. I spent a day monitoring how much sunlight they got and still mixed results. Disappointed. Initially bought these for Xmas but after the first use planned on using them year round. Now I’m unsure.
