i would definitely say there are better options out there but sometimes my yarn will get stuck in the winding part. i have to take apart the entire thing to get it out. also wish the part that holds the yarn was a little taller so i could make bigger yarn balls.

Thsi is the most affordable and easy gadget I could ever ask for. I love it. It helps me roll my yarn up in balls so I dont have a ball of knotted up yarn everytime I use part of a skein. This is a keeper.

I really wanted to like this and should have heeded warnings on review. While the yarn spinner did work and make a nice yarn cake the gears are exposed and twice while making my first one the yarn got all caught in them. Had to cut yarn, take cake off and untangle the yarn caught. I’m returning for one that’s white and clue whose gears are all enclosed. Hope it works better. Likes that this came with the extras for I wanted to Ty the Pom Pom makers. They work fine but can just as easily make using my hands. ... show more

The piece that holds the yarn arrived cracked, as you can see in two of the attached photos. It still wound a small skein without any issues, and I've only wound one other skein since then. It does make a fair bit of noise, which didn't bother me but I did hear complaints from my husband about it. I'll update the review after I wind some more balls, since one of the main complaints is that it stops working after a few balls. ... show more

    • Does what it is supposed to do
Product does wind yarn ok, but it isn’t as stable when mounted to table as I would like. It is kinda wobbly even when tightened down and the part that you feed yarn through sometimes doesn’t stay in place. Maybe I just haven’t got the hang of it yet. But it does do the job.

This machine is so easy to use and convenient! I love how uniform it makes the little yarn cakes( the ones in the pic look a little messy because my kittens got to them and I had to reroll them a little by hand lol). Definitely refills all of those messy half and lees balls of yarn. Makes my yarn storage area look nice and neat again! So nice to have things more organized and much less messy! Hardest part is keeping the yarn from knotting up while rolling into another ball but you do tend to get the hang of it after a while. Happy crafting to all! ... show more
