This solar chicken coop door has been serving my chickens for a month now and it’s made things a lot easier. The setup took a little time, but the instructions were clear and everything worked just right out of the package. I downlaoded the app to check on it or change the schedule, which is really handy when I’m not home. The light sensor and timer both work well. I don’t have to go out early in the morning or at night anymore. The aluminum door feels solid and the anti-pinch feature gives me some peace of mind. The solar panel charges it fine so far, and I haven’t had to mess with the battery at all.

The aluminum material feels strong and weatherproof. Installation took me about 30 minutes, and everything I needed was included. I can open or close the door from anywhere using my phone, which has come in handy when I’m away for the day or just don’t feel like walking to the coop in the dark. The light sensor is convenient—it opens at dawn and closes right after sunset, so I don’t have to think about it. I also like that there’s a timer option and manual override if needed. With 2K HD camera, I can check in on my chickens in real time, even at night. The two-way talk feature works—I used it to call the hens into the coop one night, and they were responsive. The camera also records and has alarm functionality, so I feel much more confident about my chicken’s safety, especially with raccoons around. The solar panel charges the built-in 9000mAh battery efficiently, so far, I haven’t needed to recharge via USB, even after several cloudy days.

The app is clunky. It keeps uninstalling my chicken door (at least once per day). Connecting to the doormat the Bluetooth app is next to impossible. It gets a connection for a few seconds and then drops - before I can even use it. Closes well at dusk but not at dawn. Tried to use the developer’s website but it is only in Chinese. I really WANT to like this but so far, I cannot use the app and have no confidence in the device operating reliably and consistently. App talks about camera and connecting via WiFi or a cellular card but it drops me every time I try to connect because the Bluetooth drops every single time.

We installed this smart chicken door a few weeks ago, and it’s been super helpful. My husband controls everything from the app, and it gives us peace of mind knowing the chickens are safely inside at night. The night vision camera is surprisingly clear, and we’ve even used the two way talk feature just for fun. Installation was straightforward, and the solar charging has worked well so far. Definitely feels like one less thing to worry about every day.

Probably going to return it. This is day two that I'm unable to look at the camera while I'm away from the house. Also, when the door closes, it says there's an obstruction and it opens and closes 5 times before finally closing for the evening. Not good, as I feel like it may just get glitchy and open during the night without us knowing. When I'm home and nearby, I can open the camera fine and it's a nice clear picture, but really need it to work when we're away. Also, the SOC Firmware update won't run because there's no SD card in there. So it keeps telling me to do the update and I can't until I put one in there. Just seems like a lot of glitches.
