  • Great song
The song is great, I was looking forward to buying the album when it came out but there won't be a CD release. Very sad, I know there's a vinyl edition coming out but if I can't get it on CD I just won't purchase it at all. I'm sure it's a killer album but I'll never get the chance to ever hear it. • Cheerful Lorde is a summer joy
Even though it's winter in her country, this is the kind of song you cherish in the summer. The thing that we've seen from Lorde as she has literally grown up before us is her ability to combine simplicity in production with really interesting textures. She can simultaneously achieve big sound and simplicity. I dig it. ... show more

  • Another Lorde hit!
Who else but Lorde can raise such high expectations for her next single, and then exceed them? Great song!

  • George Michael for Straight People
“Solar Power” by Lorde is a great hetero-normalized cover of George Michael’s timeless classic “Freedom” without any of the confusing sexual politics or gender dynamics. Check it out!

  • Song good, but album art too annoying to encounter all the time.
If I could get rid of the album art I would enjoy this song. For now that looks like an involved headache that will involve installing extra software, so I can live without this otherwise enjoyable song.

  • Good song butt...
Really like this song but I have to look at her ass all the time when it plays on my iPad... so minus 2 stars.

  • Lame as can be.
Stupid whimsical laziness swirls through this album. It seems like these commercial people have the same co-producers and work really hard at sounding just like the other. They aren't musicians. They are topical song writers with all the right studio gear to crank out hits based on showing their bum, in Lorde's case. There is nothing worth listening to on the entirety of this album that I had to sit through because a relative at least wanted to hear it on a long drive. The talky song is a wretching gag of a song Rickie Lee would throw up if she had to do it. The slick empty guitars that fill certain voids is a well, slick empty guitars to nowhere creatively. Lorde is just one of a handful of these artists that provide empty insights in to their recently rich lives. Sad. ... show more
