I was excited for this item and after getting so many connections made, clamps tightened, and retightened, the unit leaked under the clear cover. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they responded right away and sent a new unit. Once that was hooked up no leaks and it works great! I have a large above ground pool and this heater has raised the temperature slowly. I run it only when the sun is shining on the heater ( I suspect many reviewers run it at night and this will cool the water!). Last year my pool could barely get above 70 degrees this time of year and it is 78 right now. I expect it will continue to rise slowly as we have sunny days, and I keep a solar cover on my pool at night to retain the heat. Many reviews show that people have very unrealistic expectations of this device. It will not allow you to swim in December but it is an incredibly cost effective way to get small increase in pool temperature over time which is exactly what I needed to get a more comfortable swimming temperature. I am very pleased with the product and with the company.

This product is hard to install, leaks terrible, and does not heat up the pool at all. It’s a waste of money.

Pretty easy set up. I think that the built in half and half design ( half the water goes through the heater and half goes through the bypass hose) is very important because I have a bigger sand filter pump attached. I haven’t had any issues with leaks. My husband is on blood thinners; so it doesn’t warm the water to his liking- the reason I gave it 4 stars.

It rose the temp of my 6K gallon pool five degrees in a few hours. It works! The hoses and clamps leaked a bit, so I had to add Teflon tape, extra clamps. Small leaks still but it’s manageable.

This is a piece of crap!!! The first hour my husband installed and hook the water, it exploded open on one corner. The next hour a second corner had popped open. One of the hoses unhooked from under the doom!!! He finally got together enough so it stopped leaking. He has the water only half the water goes through it because it can't take the high pressure! Don't get one, you will be very disappointed!

Excellent heater comes w/all attachments to run two or more. These heaters are larger than those in most pool supply catalogs and at least 1/2 the price. Hooked two up to my 18x33 oval pool and they have maintained 80 or above temp in the unpredictable Michigan weather. Very happy with this purchase, especially the quality for price.

The compact design will suit my needs better than the long flat type. I'm heating water for hydronic heating of a small greenhouse. I had to make a trip to a local plumbing shop to get some fittings to adapt to the PEX tubing I'm using. Heat collection with this design is a compromise due to the angular cover. A tradeoff for space saving that's acceptable.
