This thing's pretty decent for the money. There are a couple of flaws, but the performance easily makes up for it. First, the brightness. Oh. My. God. I put this above my garage door. It throws light onto the edge of the neighbor's property on the other side of the street. It's like the eye of God opening on my driveway. Think the end of the Raiders of the Lost Ark. The melty guy? That's you if you were to stand in front of it. I put it on the "3% brightness, full brightness w/motion" setting. It easily lasts all night long. However, the standby lighting is only usefully illuminating on the darkest of nights. It's a trade-off. It can last all night, OR most of the night at 10% and you might ward off the night demons. Your choice, I guess. The detection can be a little wonky, too. I approach it from the side, and I'd say it's the equivalent of sneaking up on your grandma with the worsening glaucoma. You can get pretty close before she squeals and wets herself. The light doesn't do these things (too expensive?) but you can get pretty close before it "notices" you. Installation was fine. It quizzically comes with four drywall anchors and screws despite having only two mounting holes. I would have liked to have had the additional holes to go with them, to be honest. It seems sturdy enough with just the two, though. Bottom line: Worth the money. Also, wear sunglasses. ... show more

Saw these on You Tube and watched lots of reviews and settled on this one. We recently moved into new home with trees behind us. Not very well lit so decided to give one of these a try. So lightweight I didn't have to put any holes into our new home I used the handyman's secret weapon (duct tape) to hang it from a rear window sill facing the backyard and it works great! Charges during day with sunlight and honestly, the motion detection works from about 40 ft! (detected ME anyway). But, that's still a long reach for a $20 piece of equipment. We keep it on the passive lighting at night and then full burst when motion detected (I think setting 3?) So far, it lasts all night, still going strong in the morning. It detected some yard workers early in the morning who were here at dawn to start on our yard (so still charged and working all night) Motion detection also picked up a cat the other night walking through the back yard. Does what we need it to do and don't have to spend money on batteries. Lights up backyard really well too when activated. I'd call it a home run ... show more

Absolutely a waste of money!!!! What I thought I was re-ordering, turned out to be the new and improved version of my previous order. What a lie! These lights are horrible. I have taken them down and reset them three times only to have the same bad result. The lights flicker off and on like I’m at an outdoor disco. This is not what I ordered. Especially since I clicked on the previous order placed. Instead of sending me what I had ordered in the past, this was supposed to be a new and improved lighting. It’s not. Unfortunately, because I ordered these in the winter, And had to wait until spring to install, I can no longer return them. Therefore, I am stuck with something that serves no purpose. If I could give it a half star I definitely would have done just that. ... show more
