Lets start by saying that I am not a welder. I am the DIY'ER that has a small wire-feed welder and I spend 5 minutes welding and 25 minutes grinding. Having said that, the wind ripped the gate keeper off my gate and I went out to weld it back on and found that my trust Harbor Freight helmet had given up the ghost. Conveniently, HF does not offer a replacement and when I talked to them I was told to just by a new helmet. I took a chance on this unit and it fit perfectly. I left it in the sun for a day to charge and I am likely still grinding on the horrible weld I laid down on my gate! ... show more

    • Junk! You get what you pay for.
Junk. Bought one, box was torn up. When I put it in my helmet it would just flash and would not stay dark. Returned it and bought another one and it was scratched up like it was used and returned and they just packaged it back up and sent it to me. It also just flashed and would not stay dark.     • It works!
My lincoln helmet stopped working and I didn't want to pay for a replacement lense that cost as much as a new helmet so I tried this one. It fits, and it works just fine. It has a blue tint, but it seems to do a good job, I don't get a headache or see white spots after using it all-day.

Works great until it doesn't. Over time I noticed the left side of the screen not darkening as much and now while welding the screen flickers or stays dark after a welding arc stops ... I suspect this to a battery life issue but there is no replaceable battery

Paid alot for the helmet and then lens didn't last long this fit perfectly and works better then new and for a really good price
