My husband and I were searching for something to block the afternoon and evening sun on our deck. It gets so hot that we can’t use the area in the summer. The Sojag Portland 10x16 gazebo was the perfect solution. It is very well made and went together smoothly. The two of us put it together over two days. No missing parts and every thing lined up very well. We also had a few heavy rain storms this week and not a single drop of water leaked from the roof. Hoping this will hold up for many years. We installed this lean to gazebo on our deck, anchoring it to the deck rather than to the side of the house. We love the way it has transformed our west facing deck into a lovely, usable outdoor space. We're impressed with how sturdy the structure is, having recently withstood tropical storm force winds--it didn't budge and roof panels remained secure. The only issue we've had is that one or two of the "channels" where the roof panels connect leak with heavy rain. Lighter rain is not a problem. For our setup, it would have been nice to have built-in gutter channels on the front (low end) to move the water draining down the roof away from the structure. With our installation, water runs off the front (low end) of the roof and onto the deck railing below, which splashes up under the structure onto furniture and soaking the outdoor rug. We may consider installing some sort of gutter system ourselves to help keep it dryer under the structure. Anyone else found a way to address this? ... show more

An 8 x 12 size was difficult to find as most gazebos with metal roofs are 10 x 12. We are glad to find this as it fits our existing concrete patio slab and the roof-line does not impact the existing supports to our upper deck. [] Directions: Accurate but not well-written at all. Study them. [] Assembly: Two people to install roof, one person for the rest. Parts labeled and some hardware spares. I think you will want your own tools, electric drill with attachments for fittings; that kind of stuff. [] Stability: We’ve had some storms and winds and the unit exceeded our expectations on stability; not a creak. However, our gazebo space is somewhat protected by the house and terrain lay out – not situated out in the open somewhere. [] Roof leakage/drainage: No leaks; however, our unit is placed under an existing upper deck. Hence, a lighter indirect rain falls through to the gazebo roof below. Still, we did have one mega rainstorm with lots of water hitting the roof and still no drips or leaks. Water drains toward the front as expected. [] Delivery/Packaging: We had no problems. The manufacturer packed the unit appropriately and we had a fantastic shipper. Two heavy boxes. Instead of carrying the boxes (not happening) we unpacked them and moved the contents to the work area. [] Curtains/Bug Screens: Separate tracks for each. Fabric and zippers nice. Has 4 tie backs with Velcro securing. [] Summary: Very happy with the quality and price. It isn’t the biggest space (cozy for 4) but we now have a previously unused space that offers us privacy and relaxation, rain or shine. Thank you for reading. ... show more

Leaks real bad. If it rains at all it leaks in multiple places underneath it. Do not try and sit under it while raining you will get soaked. The original seal is a brush on the panels. I like the shade and sturdiness of the unit. Finally fixed the leaks when I got time to take the panels down, took out the brush and used silicone seal on all the top side where the panels slid into the sides. I put up one panel, used caulk gun with the seal and sealed both sides with lots of seal. I then put in another panel and sealed the next one. We had a heavy downpour and it does not leak anymore. ... show more

This is an excellent gazebo. It came in great condition and was easy to put together. Everything lined up and came with enough extra bolts and nuts with is always a plus. Sojag is a brand I would recommend to anyone. This Portland gazebo is the perfect addition to my deck and pool area. It was intelligently designed all the way down to the hooks for the curtains. Bravo. Only downside is that it could be a bit sturdier but mounting it to the house will fix much of the play it has. ... show more

My husband and I assembled it by ourselves with no other help. We took our time, carefully read the directions and did a little creativity with installation. It falls over our breezeway windows so we attached ledger boards to secure it to. It is also bolted to the concrete patio. It went together perfectly without any difficulty. Oh, by the way, we are in our 70's! It sheds the rain, which is why we purchased it. It is extremely heavy so make sure you have an area cleared to have it delivered to and you can leave it there until you are ready to assemble it. ... show more

Product leaks like crazy.... cheap panels very thin and screws are so small the barely hold the panels down of it wasn't so bulky I would have sent it back. Don't waste your money

Bought this when our old canvas awning gave out. Its been up for 2 weeks, and works well. It wasn't horrible to assemble, but you will need at least two people. Parts were clearly labelled but the directions are done via diagram, so if you are a person who needs written step by step instructions, it may be a bit of a challenge. The diagrams change orientation from page to page, so make sure that for each step, you understand what direction things are going. ... show more
