  • Game changer!!!
I absolutely love this thing! And so do my plants! No more guessing why they are struggling. My favorite feature is light and nutrients. Now i know when i need to fertilize and that my plants are getting the right light requirements! Oh and the moisture levels!!! I was over watering everything!!! Not anymore! ... show more

  • My Wife’s Plants New Best Friend
Got this for my wife and her beloved potted plants, and let me tell you—I've been demoted. She now consults this little gadget like it’s the Oracle of Green Thumbs. Moisture? Check. Light? Check. Nutrients? PH? It does everything but whisper encouragement to the plants (though I wouldn’t be surprised if she starts doing that herself now). The best part? No batteries required! The worst part? No batteries required. Because if you stash it in a drawer or leave it in a dark garage like I did, it basically goes into a coma. You'll have to stick it out in the sun like a lizard on a rock to bring it back to life. But once it’s charged up, it’s good to go again. All in all, this little tool is accurate, easy to use, and has officially become the MVP of our plant parenting journey. Highly recommend—just don’t let it hibernate too long in a dark corner, or it’ll ghost you. ... show more

  • It works exactly as it states it will
This product does exactly what it says it will do. I ALWAYS overwater plants, so I needed this! And I learned something about nutrient deficiency for my plants.

  • works great
This works great for my needs, both indoor and out doors. I purchased 2, and would recommend and purchase this item again. They are easy to use and read, I think both of mine are well built.

  • Updated 2024 - pH readings wrong / Good Customer Service
UPDATE: The pH metering stopping giving me readings. I used in the Fall and it stopped working in Spring. I sanded it per instructions but didn't help. Customer service quickly got back to me and sent a replacement with some extra hints. I think I might have messed it up because you are only supposed to lightly sand the lowest piece of the probe - the tip - but I had lightly sanded the length of the probe. The extra instructions they sent said this - so save your sandpaper and don't overdo it like me and you should be able to enjoy using it for multiple seasons. ---- The meter does produce different results for different soils around the yard. I mainly wanted the pH part, the other stuff isn't super necessary for my needs but interesting nonetheless. The pH seems like it could be pretty correct as it does adjust slightly for soils I know are more acidic (due to the type of fertilizers I use.) My problem is that the range of pH anyone really needs for soil is liberally only between 4.5 - 8.5. If you have soil below or above these it really doesn't matter how much since it is so far off the chart of what is needed for anything other than highly specialized growing media. And if you were doing that you would have more sophisticated equipment. So the entire range of what I care about takes up very little space between 1 and 8 since everything I have is between 5.5 and 7.0 pH. It's impossible to see at this scale if you are at 5.8 or 6.2 or what. You just have a rough approximation that it is about 6 which isn't super helpful. Every 0.1 change in pH represents a 26% difference in acidity or alkalinity of the soil. This instrument should be fine tuned for a smaller range of the pH scale showing at least .5 unit steps. An annoyance is that the needle at rest, in no soil medium, is pretty much right over the 6.5/7 pH scale. So if you insert the probe into soil that is 6.5 the needle doesn't move causing you to think it doesn't work. Every time this happened to me I flipped the switch around and would see the needle react very quickly and so I know it was functioning but the resting needle should really have its own place as is the standard on almost every other instrument you can find. The probe itself seems well constructed. I pushed it deep into the ground and was able to pull it out pretty easily. I think if you put too much pressure on the meter head while pushing it in you might break it though. The box comes with a little square of sand paper you should not throw away. Eventually the probe will lose its measuring abilities from a little corrosion build up on the metal. A light sanding would refresh it. ... show more

  • Backwards/Inverted Ph Scale!!!
Be aware, the Ph scale is backwards. The Ph scale will read less than 7 Ph for alkalinity while greater than 7 will be acidic. Test yourself using baking soda (or fertilizer) for alkalinity) or vinegar for acidity! On the flip, this Ph meter seems more consistent than the cheap digital meters. And yes, the cheap foreign Ph meters were also backwards! Think my cheap digital ph meter only lasted six months, while these are still working 12+ months. ... show more
