  • Throws snow well
Style: Tool only
I’ve had the snapper snow thrower for a couple of years now. Ion the a whole is pretty good at throwing snow. It would be nicer. If it was self propelled because it can get bogged down my snowy surfaces. It would also be nice if the batteries lasted in a little longer. If you want the most basic snowblowing tool around this may well work for you I have found that I want the added features of self propelled enough to go buy another snow thrower ... show more

  • Right tool for the job...
What this does really well: - It goes through light snow, roughly 3 inches and under, beautifully. - The battery is wonderful to have versus gas. I get about 4 full snow blowings of a large front walk and drive way w/zero issues. - On the battery, the charger is fairly sizeable and has a built-in fan to keep the battery cool. It does make a little noise however the assumption is that you'll be charging in a basement or garage. - The battery does have a meter to read how full or how depleted it is. Huge help vs. other products I've looked at. - It does throw the snow far away and does even handle some heavier, icy stuff occasionally. - It is light and that is huge, especially when dealing with getting the blower up and down steps. - It has a really nice light for early evening or even night blowing/cleaning. I've used the blower at night and it is just tremendous. - The motor is very reliable and quiet. My neighbors are averse to substantial noise (especially at night) and this makes a quick dust off super-easy. What it cannot do: - Heavy snow with over 6 inches. Nope, nope and nope. Used my heavy duty Toro gas blower. - Leaves or any stuff that isn't snow. Nope. Large blowers can sometimes handle stuff mixed in with the snow, not this product. - Lacks powered wheels. This blower is not self powered (meaning the pushing is done by the human). Going uphill this makes it a bit tougher. Even surfaces help substantially. Downhill makes it much easier. Bottom line: I highly recommend this product. I've used it 4 times in three days here in the Northeast US (February 2021 snows). The snowing here is constant, 1 to 2 inches a shot. This has saved me trips to the gas station and back pain (moving a self powered 300 + pound snow blower is absolutely NOT easy). Because it is just pressing a button to start (instead of pulling a starter cord, etc..) this is much easier to use at a moments notice. If you are moving anything above 3 to 4 inches of snow, this probably won't work for you. If you are using this as a secondary blower for lower volumes of snow (meaning a large area w/less accumulation), this snow blower is terrific. Will save you time, gas and your back. ... show more

  • Good for its intended use!
Style: Tool only
Great lightweight snowblower. We had a 12” snow and it handled the areas up to 10” (what it’s graded for) with ease. It certainly isn’t as powerful as a gas snow blower but I have minimal issues with it. Some things to keep in mind: It’s not self-propelled, which means you’ll be pushing it through snow—that can sometimes be difficult. I recognize I’m a mid-20s male and it happens to not be an issue. You’ll need at least a 4Ah battery or two 2Ah in my opinion. We have two 2Ah and a rapid charger and this allows me to easily get the job done on our 8700 sq ft lot—usually around 40 mins or so. As a side note, one 2Ah battery gives us 45 mins with the Snapper 82V 19” lawn mower. Pros: -Very lightweight and small footprint -Excellent distance in throw, especially if going slow -Don’t have to keep gas/oil around -No smell and relatively quiet -Handles snow up to 10” well Cons: -Skids do catch on concrete, but you get used to it -Not self-propelled Overall it’s what I expected. I do think the lawn mower we have of the same brand is a better product—my wife and I love it. But I certainly don’t regret the purchase and will continue to use it! ... show more

  • Surprisingly effective
The media could not be loaded. This little snow blower has been one pleasant surprise after another. First of all, I placed the order on the afternoon of 12/20/22 (yes, at the height of the holiday shipping season) and it arrived THE NEXT DAY. More importantly, this thing is amazingly powerful for a small, battery operated thrower. Will it cut through 8 inches of heavy, wet snow? Probably not. But I just now cleared 3-4 inches of powdery to semi-wet snow (including some 6-inch drifts) from the driveway and sidewalk of our corner lot in less than an hour on a single fully-charged battery (see the video to get an idea of the size of our lot). I never would have guessed a battery powered snow blower would have been capable of such a feat. Don't get me wrong, there was some pushing and shoving involved when I encountered some areas that had been tamped down by foot traffic. But swinging a snow shovel would have been far more fatiguing and taken significantly longer. Highly recommended for light to medium snow falls and as an alternative to heavy, smelly gasoline powered equipment. ... show more

  • Works great after a couple false starts
Style: Tool only
I live in a mobile home park and have a two car pad and a short sidewalk to blow snow off of. It's nice and light so I easily pull or carry it up the 8 steps to our deck to store it and also blow off the deck. I'm a tall 64 year old woman and can handle this fairly well. I also wheel it across the street to do my neighbor's pad and have power left in my second battery. I also have the mower so the cost per project goes down. I may not be so pleased due to the cost of the batteries. Oh, by the way, I live in Minnesota, so it's had a pretty good workout. It seems as soon as the grass stops growing, it's almost time for the snow to start blowing. My heart did sink the first year when it refused to keep running. I'm not sure why it did that but after stopping 3 or 4 times, it kept running like a champ from then on. ... show more

  • Customer service
Three stars. I have not run my brand new snowblower. It arrived a month ago with a dead 82v battery. Customer service has helped but it has been two weeks since they promised a replacement for this $150 battery. I will review my review when Snapper comes through.
